  Paisley Ties Are Satanic, Sandals Are Immodest. What is Worldly????

  20 years ago (in my teens!

  ) there was a well established rumour that the paisley pattern had demonic origins.

  no brothers in my hall wore ties with that pattern, until a watchtower had a brother wearing a tie with this pattern.. a co said that sisters feet should not seen at the meetings for the sake of decency.

  Yeah, gyno visits and tampons were outlawed in my congregation.
  Also sport coats were outlawed so a man must wear a matching suitcoat and pants. He was not allowed to go on stage without a coat even in 100 degree days in Mississippi.

  sent a letter to mom 4 days ago, came back today stamped "returned" on it... she wouldn't even open it... it had some nice comments in it too.

  stupid blanking cult, blinds the eyes of folks so they won't even read what we have to say.

  I'm sorry. I sent a wedding invitation to my grandparents and they mailed it back unopened. I know it hurts and I cried. I am glad to see it didn't get you too down. I eventually just decided it was their way to show me that they are hurting. I know you'll find peace about it too.

  Told To Buy Emergency Kits ...Ever Heard of This?

  a couple months ago my jw mom told me that in all the book study groups for their congregation they were told to go out and by emergency kits because "things were getting so bad".

  i restrained myself from rolling my eyes.

  has anyone else heard of this happening?

  Just to reminisce: I left JWs just a few months after Katrina. They collected relief supplies and filled a room full of it to give to the "brothers and sisters". We were supposed to feel so loved and being cared for by Jehovah's organization... hahaha... A lot of the churches were doing far more not only for their members but also for the community.
  
  And some of you might find it interesting that I still have releif supplies left -- two years later I still have hygene stuff left (lots of soap)!

  i read this and i don't believe the tablets that prove 587 would disprove the bible.

  so can you help me figure out what the bible really says about the fall?.

  counting back from that date, and adding up what they have discerned to be the reigns of each king, 605 bce is found to be the first year of mighty king nebuchadnezzar.

  So, the 70 years counted from 537-607 are your bog standard 365 days years BUT then they use years of 360 days to go from there to 1914? LMAO its totally f***ed up. Has anyone asked that question? What was the reply please.

  Counting back from that date, and adding up what they have discerned to be the reigns of each king, 605 BCE is found to be the first year of mighty King Nebuchadnezzar. Jeremiah says this King destroyed the city of Jerusalem in his 19th year of rule. Hence, counting forward 19 years bring us to 587 BCE. Incidentally, this is also the method Christendom uses.

  Jehovah's Witnesses, on the other hand, believe something the secular historians do not. We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God, so we take the Bible's prophecies into account when calculating ancient chronology. —See the charts to the right

  The prophet Daniel tells us, “Jerusalem will lie in ruins for seventy years.” (Daniel 9:2, Contemporary English Translation) However, the secular chronology disagrees with the Bible. Their chronology allows only fifty years – not seventy – from 587 BCE when Jerusalem was supposed to be destroyed, until the Jews returned home in 537 BCE.

  So, Jehovah's Witnesses will not accept secular chronology when it contradicts the Bible. Hence, counting back from 537 BCE (the year the Bible says the Jews returned home) for a full seventy years, we arrive at the year 607 BCE. That must be the year Jerusalem was destroyed. The secular date of 587 BCE, twenty years out, must be wrong. The following pages of this mini-site will show from other Bible prophecies why 607 BCE must be correct.
