  tomorrow morning, 12 hours from now, i will be on my way to disneyworld to meet the mouse in person.

  i have wanted to go there ever since i was a kid and now it's happening.

  i know i'm going to be 6 years old when i go through those gates.. due to my current health issue, it's going to be physically demanding for me, but i'm going to do my best to see everything i can, for as long as i can and enjoy every second of it.

  Music, the brain, and spirituality?

  so, every now and again, i get into a mood where i just want to go out into my "man cave" (read garage), and crank up my stereo and listen to some good hard loud r&b.. tonight, as i was in one of those interludes, a couple of things struck me:.

  1) how music makes the brain go "quiet.

  " i mean, it's almost impossible to think about things when you're listening to whatever music 'strikes a chord' in you;.

  So, every now and again, I get into a mood where I just want to go out into my "man cave" (read garage), and crank up my stereo and listen to some good hard loud r&b.

  Tonight, as I was in one of those interludes, a couple of things struck me:

  1) How music makes the brain go "quiet." I mean, it's almost impossible to think about things when you're listening to whatever music 'strikes a chord' in you;

  2) How music seems to be one of those 'languages' to which everyone can relate. Even if the chord structure and nuances of the melodies are unfamiliar, it seems like, with fairly little effort, almost everyone can find some degree of common ground when listening to music.

  Of course, I've made several generalizations here, and they most probably bear justifiable correction.

  But, if you will, an extrapolation to add: Perhaps there is something "spiritual" about music? I mean, after all, why would an aborigine want to waste his time stringing catgut on a limb, just so he could pull the twine and make a different series of sounds? Did that put meat in his belly? Or make his children live longer?

  Maybe that's why so many religions virtually require melodious accompaniment as an integral part of their social construct?

  Just a thought...as my eyes look up toward the Pleaides.

  Abandoned...she has those darn cow-thingies literally glued to the tops of the cabinets. They didn't fall down even when 3 big trees fell on our house last week.

  I swear before God that the first words out of her mouth were "Oh, Craig! I hope that my cow-thingies are OK!"

  We've got so many cow-thingies around our house, I can hardly tell them apart from our Xmas-thingies.

  But let me say this here and now, and with no equivocation whatsoever, that I love my wife.

  don't take this wrong i appreciate kind words or good advice from anyone.

  got lot's of nice pm's recently from some concerned ones here this week....but i got two from a jw lady, that i had explained i had some lingering issues with being taught me and my parents would never get old and die....among other things....she said:.

  i don't recall ever being told i would never die.
