  The friends, the truth and loaded language

  as many people already know, using the term "the truth" to describe an organization's teachings is a brilliant way to constantly reaffirm it's validity subconsciously.

  it's a great use of repetition to establish as fact that which is only opinion.. i keep hearing the phrase "the friends".

  aside from the fact that i really don't like the terminology, i couldn't help but wonder if this isn't just another use of repetition and loaded language to enforce the belief that all of the people who share the same religion actually are your friends.. in some ways, i think it would be beneficial for some folks to drop "the truth" and "the friends" from their vocabulary so that they aren't continuing to immerse themselves in group-lingo that's intended to elicit certain emotional responses and associations.. what other loaded language can you come up with that is quasi-specific to jehovah's witnesses?

  many hundreds of people read this site who are not subscribed, and i would suspect that the vast majority are jw's looking for answers to an internal turmoil that they may be living with.. the information posted on this board does get read and then passed among many congregations of jw's.

  this information is a powerful force and is a wonderful thing for those who are seeking to be informed, and a not so wonderful thing to those in brooklyn who are seeking to harness the boundaries of knowledge.. given this scenario, and how much credibility can be lost by xjw's who perpetuate gossip and innuendo, can we check our sources and facts very carefully before we post information to this board.

  there is no particular nobility in being first with news about some aspect of wts life.

  Hillary is someone stating an OPINION as how they see things. Wasn't like Hillary made a post saying: God damn, you people really should start thinking the way I do!

  Give Hillary a break, she's (sorry if yer a he) is just speaking her mind. No reason to jump down her throat. Not like she is trying to institute any kind of "rules" here.

  So let's stop the whole thing here. No more quotes, nor bashing, beyond this post. Hillary spoke her mind, you spoke yours. Good.
