Books/texts/scriptures mentioned in the bible , though not incorporated in the bible cannon .
by smiddy inif a bible writer / scribe refers to a particular book text or scripture by name , for one reason or another, shouldn`t that be a legitimate reason for including it in the bible cannon as a part of the bible ?.
just how many texts , books, scriptures are left out of the old testament bible that are mentioned there in and how many, if any are their in the new testament..

I Feel So Much More Intelligent Now
by OneFingerSalute inwell i must say that after the serve us meeting tonight i feel so much more intelligent.
almost as if i had four years of college condensed into ten minutes.. that is what was spent going on about how to use the glossary in the back of the "wonderful" new revised bible.
we got a crash course on how to look up the words listed alphabetically.

Meetings are mind numbing. The watchtower should be 15 minutes to 30 at best. (Still a waste) . This crap is beat into the heads of everyone each week never anything new. I feel they stretch it as hard as they can. Just like everyone does with their field service time

Atheist/Agnostic/Non-religious households are more moral than religious counterparts
by Coded Logic indr. phil zuckerman (professor of sociology).
my own ongoing research among secular americans - as well as that of a handful of other social scientists who have only recently turned their gaze on secular culture - confirms that non-religious family life is replete with its own sustaining moral values and enriching ethical precepts.
chief among those: rational problem solving, personal autonomy, independence of thought, avoidance of corporal punishment, a spirit of "questioning everything" and, far above all, empathy.. the results of such secular child-rearing are encouraging.

Just ask simple questions and make street witnesses move along
by OnTheWayOut inyou don't have to know much to talk to jw's and show them they don't want to really discuss the matters.they consider a discussion on the matter they are pushing to be "confrontational.".

I hate when I bring up a science or archeology fact and its immediately dismissed by my spouse as just not true... On what grounds??? the cult mind hits its limiter and there is no where else to go, cognitive dissonance then goes into overdrive. These kids seem to have a very low bar for hitting the limit of what they know. -

I remember me and my childhood friend going rounds with trinitarians (looking back now this was a tremendous waste of time) but we were way younger than these guys and we could argue for days with strong conviction and ver feel antagonized lol. We knew our s%$t! But its all nonsense and the more witnesses are exposed to those that know the real truth, and the end keeps not coming, and science teaches more about our universe and ancient cultures, i guess its better for them to know nothing and run away. Public carts may be backfiring -

by atheist_R_stupid inbeing that this is not "ex jws" and in fact, more driven by atheists talking a bunch of crap, im not even going to address you people like you know anything about jws because you dont.
nor am i going to assume you know the bible because none of you do.. and yes, im speaking down at you all because you men have actually went out your way to make a site to speak down at an entire group of people.
yet i bet you cant even handle a single uswer talking down at you, like you talk down about jws can you?.

When a religious person says I'm stupid for thinking this way I'll take it as a compliment. Belief blinds intelligence.

I feel bad for those kids, not because he is picking on them, but because the cult has given them nothing to stand on. They are ill equipped in a teaching of outdated ideas. Its sad. Its a lose lose situation. These poor bastards just want to rack up enough hours to get to be a Ministerial Servant so they have a hope of having sex eventually... I mean marrying a nice sister.
