Watchtard Dancing Around the Word "Rapture"
by freemindfade inthere were so many things wrong with this weeks watchtower, its hard to pick one, but one that really bothered me was this watchtower business and their delivery.
i have never seen them quite have to explain something away like this in a study article like this before.
shows me they are battling people feeling confused.

I have never seen them quite have to explain something away like this in a study article like this before. Shows me they are battling people feeling confused. basically they outline how Lett Morris and the boys will be raptured away, then go into detail how this is not a rapture.
You see, according to them, the connotation of the word "Rapture, is that your physical body goes to heaven, and they don't THATS JUST UNSCRIPTURAL, so because that is the connotation, we don't call it "Rapture"
Give me a break. The idea in general is the rapture, primarily, secondarily, the detail about physical or not, is a smaller component. But after years of railing on doctrine of other religions, when you start teaching them yourselves I guess you have to do damage control...

...Having witnesses on my instagram feel the need to preach in a passive aggressive back handed way, when I post something they don't like. Such as motivational quote, or a nice car, or anything positive. They have to pipe up and say something to the contrary, like thats wrong because *insert idiotic JW thinking here about a deferred life and hating everything that makes you happy or positive* Get the f-ck out of my life
...And every stupid watchtower article from the WTBTS, and every piece of crap outline turned into a fallacious bias laden diatribe delivered by someone often so stupid they couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the instruction written on the heel.
F-ck you, you publishing company pseudo religion cult incorporated. F-ck off and close your doors already no one cares about your desert god.

Extreme emotions re today's watchtower
by Tornintwo ini was supposed to attend the meeting today, one of my once a month duties for the sake of my family and my fade.
i read the wt and i just can't stomach going.... what this wt does is again and again reiterate that only jws will survive the coming destruction and that they should be happy about this and raise ourselves erect...eg:.
we cannot expect that many people will suddenly convert to true christianity.

One of the last times a went door to door a few years back was with a bethelite in NYC. His macabre view towards people who didnt want to listen to him sickened me. It's always sickened me but I never went out again. After a very kind catholic man told him no thank you and have a nice day etc. Very friendly not upset at all. This ass clown bethelite says as we are leaving the door "I hope jehovah plays back for them at Armageddon all the times we came to them and they turned us away." I'm not gonna lie I wanted to punch him in the face. -

"Getting Baptized Is A Protection...."
by dubstepped ini'm sure that most of us heard that line when we were young.
i never could convince myself of that, other than that it hung a blade over my head that would then be on the chopping block should i err in some way and thus they would be protected from me, but i also knew that i needed to do so anyway.
otherwise i'd be a pariah if i got older and didn't take the step, and i wanted to be good in their eyes.

All getting baptized does, is get you wet.
Now being sworn into any totalitarian group, be it religious, cult government etc, can offer some sort of prevention by demanding obedience under penalty of something.
For the witnesses this membership give protection for what exactly? Morals?
Obey or else. I personally would rather be surrounded by "disobedient" people, who will do things because they are good people, not "obedient". my friend was told by a CO's wife, "The desert god doesn't want good people, he wants obedient people". think about the implications of that. Obedience for fear of punishment or granting of reward (as the witnesses are) is so shallow! What happens often when one of these "obedient" ones abandons the rules? Well then yes, they harm themselves, because they are just "obedient".
I think baptism as a protection is nonsense, does it technically maybe prevent some things, yea I guess just like demanding certain secular laws under penalty of punishment does. But it DOES NOT make you a good person. It may actually do more harm than good, because it makes you reliant on rules for your morals and behavior, take it away and what do you have? confusion.

The new 'classes' jehovahs-witness.net has created. Which one are you?
by Esse quam videri inover time a number of different 'classes' of members have arisen on this forum.
1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.
2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.
