  Any thought behind your " Avatar"

  i think that's the correct phrase?

  anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.

  now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.

  i have a question with regard to fading.

  the wife and i have plans to move to another hall and continue our fade from the organization.

  we are already missing quite a few meetings and we are not reporting time.

  Are Witnesses really "Bible Students"?

  we were always told that as witnesses we were "sincere bible students".... carefully examining the scriptures.. yes, we were indeed taught much about the content of the bible, it's history, prophecies etc..... but it was always from one perspective....that of the society.

  when the society changed its interpretations, we had to do the same..... so were we really "bible students", or "society students"?.

  just a thought.....

  Witnesses have an eisegesis approach to the bible which makes their understanding an absolute joke.

  On the other hand exegesis is an attempt to determine the historical context within which a particular verse exists – the so-called "Sitz im Leben" or life setting.

  they ignore everything but what they want to get out of the text, 2+2=5 if you will.

  what do you think is the main reason why so many young ones are waking up?

  seems as though the number of baptisms even for the young ones is down from what people report here.

  at my former hall the young ones are all in totally sheltered even while going to school.

  expressing thier desires to pioneer etc.

  Keralia is a professor in neuropathology? Is it just me or is it a stretch to call this man a scientist? Sounds like a rouge academic to me. Also look at ben Carson, he's a freaking brain surgeon who is not only a bible thumping creationist, but believed some pretty wacky stuff about the pyramids. Also he ran for president but that is not as impressive as brain surgery.

  WTBTS vs. Islam

  the articles and meeting parts have been missing something all along, as far as i can see.. jws are taught to demonize all 'worldly' ( not jws) organizations, individuals and religions as having no value only to be destroyed by god at 'harm-you-gettin'-( armageddon ).. why do they not mention islam?no scathing denouncements?.

  the only publication i really remember, was the "mankind's search for god" book that touched on the beliefs and practices of muslims.. why do you think this is the case?.

  I think acknowledging other religions too much highlights the convoluted nature of religion and similarities to themselves. I think their poster religion to attack is Catholicism because they are a big apethetic easy target. The picture of Babylon the great. All others, Islam, other cults like Mormons and Scientology I think they'd just rather ignore because its to complicated to complain about what makes them bad when its the same thing as the jws.

  This is something that I told my wife a while ago when waking up. That just the mere idea of 'God' creates such confusion, violence, and other "fruits" if you will, how can it be good? It's not one single doctrine, its this Abrahamic bully god. If people took away what they want form the bible without influence form any religion, if they believe it, the take away would be bad.
