  Are The Governing Body Anointed?

  for any lurkers, i just want to put a thought out there for you.

  like me maybe during your life as a jw the "thing" that causes someone to know if they are anointed was always a bit of mystery, except to those who claimed they knew.

  i had heard it explained to me many ways, and like many things i just said "ok, well thats an answer... i guess".

  Yep

  My whole point is isn't the same voice that is telling them they are going to heaven telling them how to interpret doctrine?? If one is always wrong couldn't the other be equally as WRONG

  Agreed, also during the talk there was one of those experiences about how someone needed like $66 to make their rent payment (some pioneer or something) and someone tipped them exactly $66 dollars or some sh-t. And of course everyone is thinking oooooo ahhhhhh. Ok. Thats a pretty nifty coincidence. But there are literally billions of people praying for things, maybe even specific amounts of money just to get by, and nothing happens. So if you get something that seems "eerily" coincidental, guess what, thats all it is, a coincidence.

  For any lurkers, I just want to put a thought out there for you. Like me maybe during your life as a JW the "thing" that causes someone to know if they are anointed was always a bit of mystery, except to those who claimed they knew. How did they know? I had heard it explained to me many ways, and like many things I just said "ok, well thats an answer... I guess".

  I often wondered, what kind of miraculous personal sign did they get? Was it a dream? Was it consistent dreams? Or vision? Something that was just their in their mind one day, like a download of info? Well the Governing Body is now very visible and active in front of everyone, and it seems with their increasing visibility has happened simultaneously with regular changes to doctrine, ie types, and anti types, generations, etc.

  What is my point? Well as a younger man I used to believe that whatever miraculous "channel" behind the scenes that let them know they were anointed, also gave them their special knowledge of bible mysteries and doctrine. Well now the doctrine is spinning like a top, changing once a year, actually becoming more aligned with the religious ideas they condemned for more than a century.

  So how can they be so sure they are chosen to be Jesus' brothers, when they can't even figure out what he meant when he spoke? No matter what you think of your religion, it boils down to "just because they say so".

  So here we go.

  Lets say I pray to Batman instead of the desert god, what would happen?

  a. I would still find the answer in a bible passage, magazine, or fellow believer because god doesn't care that I accidentally was praying to Batman instead of the desert god?

  b. I would still find the answer in a bible passage, magazine, or fellow believer because Batman in fact answered my prayer?

  c. I would not find the answer in a bible passage, magazine, or fellow believer because the desert god didn't like me praying to batman, so he hid the bible verse, took it out of the magazine, or sent a text to a fellow believer to not give me any help?

  d. None of the above, because this is all a waste of time because neither jehovah or batman actually exist?

  Love is like God.

  neither, can be proven only to the believer can they exist.

  we could therefore say that a persons feelings on god and love are simply chemical reactions produced by the brain.

  however what i find interesting is that if a certain part of a persons brain gets damaged their personalities and emotions can radically change.. the rebel..

  been reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.

  i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.

  i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.
