  Not wanting to be near a child

  as a single man, i also feel that it's not well seen to even talk to a child you don't know... just look ahead and don't look at them.. pretty sad world hey..... .

  Today at the hospital, one of our friends brought her daughter who is either 5 or 6. Her mum was going to have to not see Megan and Baby because girl was too young to go in, so i took her for a walk around the hospital (she loved it actually) seeing all the different buildings, ambulances, cars and people - anyhow we were going through past this female doctor or nurse when little xxxxx announces she needed a wee - well the nurse looked at me and from what i could tell her eyes followed me, so i had to raise my voice practically to say i wouldnt be following her in and that i'd wait outside for her - the whole time i didnt hold her hand or anything either, for fear of someone getting the wrong idea...sad sad sad world isnt it

  The girl was clearly not mine and was clearly 'almost new to me' to any stranger who saw us so they immediately get the wrong idea.

  Also the other day near the hospital, i sat on some benches near the college to pass the time - girl and mum acted strangely and kept lookin at me as they went by, i had to not look at them back incase they got the wrong idea.

  I feel the same mate, i always worry if i smile at a kid they or someone else will get the wrong idea - sad world definitely.

  i had an interesting dinner conversation a few evenings ago with my staunch jw 'rental unit.

  it started out with the usual small talk that eventually led to them bringing up the plane crash with the rbc members.

  Hey, its hard to leave here - i did the same thing earlier this year thinking i should leave and move on, i moved on and found a new place for JWD in my life. Instead of it being just my support, a crutch and a resource it became a network for my extended family.

  I can really struggle to find common ground with some people and with others i dont. I like to be able to listen and have something to say, i like to be able to have a deep conversation and i hate small talk in real life. At one point i really loved talking to people when i left the witnesses, it was almost a passion in itself but slowly i withdrew bit by bit when i realised i had so much to learn about the world.

  Witnesses think they are in their element when they are out and about, talking to people - actually, its the people you meet who aren't witnesses who come into their own and really know what they are on about, for once i found myself within a real topic with real consequences and real actions, frightening.

  Just ran into a DFd Witness trying to "come back"

  i invited him to come inside the coffee shop where i am working (on a book about jws) and he came in saying he had to make it back to the convention center for his assembly, but he was very leary.

  he came in and i invited him to sit down but he woudn't.

  he said he couldn't answer any questions because he was disfellowshipped.

  I took two magazines today off some witnesses i bumped into (and knew) - if it means they are short of them at a door and read a scripture instead, that suits me.

  didnt want to break the new baby!!

  btw havent forgotten other topic, meg and i will look at that later.. megan had a long long labour, the induction took aaaaaaaages but things suddenly sped up at 15:00pm and by 16:45 he was out.

  lol thanks open mind, you are right - i would sacrifice sleep anyday for what i got in return! I hope for your sake she sees your post as 'old light' and sees we've moved on as things were gradually revealed to us.
