  the best public talk i ever heard was one i heard in a jw kingdom hall.

  unfortunately, the hurriedly formed jc disfellowshipped him within a couple of weeks for not worshipping the octo(headed) gb.

  this happened two years back when i was his fellow-elder.

  He doesn't post here anymore but LittleToe (a really nice guy) spoke out against the Society from the Platform

  On his website he says "I left the JW's on January 6th 2002 after announcing my Disassociation from the platform, at the end of a Public Talk I was giving. The Society should probably count their blessings, as it had crossed my mind to deliver it during an Assembly item, but that wouldn't have fulfilled my benign objectives"

  Old Literature being destroyed again!

  the society are at it again.

  witnesses at a local congregation are getting rid of old literature that predates the early 90's.

  you can imagine why.

  There are books that are kept and some really old relics yes but between that there have been cases in the past (and again at the moment) where dubs are encouraged to dispose of old literature. Generally speaking its the magazines that are most incriminating. It may just be my old kingdom hall but that was not the impression i was given.

  The Society are at it again. Witnesses at a local congregation are getting rid of old literature that predates the early 90's. You can imagine why. Just saying guys, if you have the opportunity to grab some old literature then do it before their history and our proof is completely gone :)

  first i made love to my wife, maybe i'm better in bed then i thought, because about an hour after that my wife comes back in and i'm sitting at my desk and i asked her, "when the elders df me are you going to leave me, spiritual endangerment and all" she said, no, i don't feel endangered and we talked awhile and i talked about da ing and not sure what to do, then i shared with her a toned down version of the da letter that i posted and that led to her asking about my beliefs and understandings of who the great crowd and 144k, heaven and earthly hopes.

  i was even able to tell her how they changed or distorted the meaning of the word naos to show the great crowd not in heaven.

  i was able to show her some of the scriptures from the da letter, able to tell her a little about 1914 and how jesus did'nt invisably come in a presence, showing her scriptures on that and some more ttatt.

  You had my full attention until i realised you didn't actually last an hour. Disappointed.

  Is it just me or has this site become a Believer/Atheist warzone?

  i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.

  i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.

  it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.

  After leaving the Witnesses for many that is the next great debate "Is there a God?" because how else do you proceed on your journey until you tackle that important queston?

  Well i think you guys are missing the most important point here, a life was saved on the brink of suicide and it doesn't matter how that was done it is still an achievement. Sure stick it to the dubs but not this way for crying out loud. We have evidence that disproves their doctrine and teachings without resorting to attacking them on the day one of them got it right!

  our friend, oompa, has passed away.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
