  Serious Question: Spanking

  ive never been punished like that i my home.

  my family always talked to me and we would decide a non-physical punishment.

  i was wandering, is still common for jw family to spank their children and if so, does the spanking continue into their late teens, even adults.

  HELP PLEASE---family emergency

  this is my first time ever participating in any discussion with ex -witnesses ever, and it's long overdue.

  i discovered the real truth about 6 years ago with the aid of websites like this (cannot contain my gratefulness), now i am stepping into your world and it feels right.

  my family runs four generations deep in witness muck,my great-grandmother was the oldest living pioneer in our region for what seemed like forever, three of my great-grandparents were "anointed",my grandfather hobnobbed with the governing body, etc.,etc.

  as i said earlier good luck but let me add...

  Conditioning means an individual over a long period of time has been told/taught something. Your dad is an elder which means he is about as far as he can go. Don't expect years of belief to become nothing in 5 minutes.

  My mum saw it as an attack if i showed her everything at once, raised my voice in frustration (even if she did first) and also when i found evidence that contradicted her, she made it either NOT credible or ignored parts of it and not all (by her choice).

  Don't just dive in and say "607 is a lie" or "this is a lie".

  For you to make progress you have to be the BETTER person and sometimes walk away when they 'seem' to be getting the better of you. This is hard but i started doing it now with mum and making the whole project last longer has shown some good signs!

  Dumping Sodas

  Well. Why not sit down and explain that until someone comes forward and admits that they LIED about taking the soda's that there will be only Vegetarian food, no takeaways, no pocket money and no goodies.

  What Would It Take For Your JW Family/Friend To Get Out?

  Some days i think there is a ray of hope. Others i feel so miserable and down.

  607 i hope, the Un thing and other lies and tricks will slowly show the truth to these people. Other than that when i try and speak to mum i get the wall down, her religion made her kick me out when i dedicated at church e.t.c

  I know one thing made her stop and think and she can never have an answer to this. IF jehovah cared, how come when my stepdad was hitting me and you didn't believe me he didn't help me?

  She says but Karl you left home eventually...then i say, yeah and at the same time the JW faith and started Church. Maybe your right mum. The true God did save me. Then she goes quiet.

  See i would of thought that in the Society, a few know what is really going on. Below that its people that just stumble across something and realise. Their eyes are opened!
