  i'm so used to getting dumped myself, now the situation is reversed i'm not sure what to say.

  i don't want to do the chicken shit thing and ignore her.

  Oh Ballsy! You never know, could be a fun learning experience--or just plain fun, anyway---oh well. Not so much pet names for dating situations, I just observe people, most especially mySelf. Many times when I was younger, I played the girl in your situation until I learned to take responsibility for my own stuff. Other times, I played you in a situation and bailed post haste. When you're nice (and I am nice) it's easy to get targeted by needy people. We all need some things from others and can provide things to others but your job is to know when something is needed that exceeds your limitations.

  I had a torrid affair with my boss one time. We were both in transitional stages of life and there was no future, but the journey was sweet and well worth taking.

  I say, fill yourself up, don't look to another to do so and don't hook up with people who are expecting to be completed by you. If you're both grown ups about it, it could be oh so sweet and worth it, even if it is not a forever kind of thing (and who knows?). The more you fight it, the more you will desire--go with it.

  I think she is a vulnerable girl. We've only dated a few times, but I'm noticing the less and less interest I show, the more she is contacting me.

  Dear Ballistic,

  I do not know how I can top the advice already given but I agree with just a cutoff approach. Ultimately, she is responsible for her situation, her feelings and reactions to all of the aforementioned---NOT YOU. I realize you feel that she is vulnerable but this is hers to own. She may be looking to you to "right" her situation, to fill the void that "he" left, that has always been with her and always shall be until she fills it herSelf. This is not your job.

  As far as the "less interested you are, the more she is" lol!!, I have a term for this; the power of the least interested. Drives we humans crazy when someone simply is not interested in us and we obsessively seek that energy that we percieve as being deserved and subsequently witheld. Just walk away, my friend, what she seeks cannot be found in another and she could turn into an inadvertant psychic vampire.

  Google Trends: The Mormons are kicking the JW's asses

  i thought that title would get your attention.. google has released a new and fascinating tool, called google trends (http://www.google.com/trends).

  it allows you to see what people search on over time.

  just type in a search term, and you'll see how people have searched on that term over the past two years.

  A similar thought crossed my mind the other day. The JW's pride themselves as being known as the primary group for the door to door ministry. However, I was listening to the radio the other day and they were talking about being bothered at the door by religious folks, and Mormons were cited--not once did they mention the JW's. This is not the first time I've noticed this. The Mormons are simply a lot more savvy and have been more successful and progressive with their religious marketing techniques.

  They're all pests, imo. The telemarketers of the religious world.

  Did anyone experience that feeling at the end of assemblies, or C/O visits?

  i`m new on here so don`t know if this subject has been covered, but i was wondering if anyone else experienced that overwhelming feeling at the end of assemblies, or when the c/o visited and gave his talk, there was a different feeling in the air, and i always thought it was `jehovah`s spirit`.

  now i`m out and have learnt a lot about the borg, and know all their dastardly deeds, i can`t understand what that feeling was.

  it can`t have been his spirit, as i don`t believe now that the borg is the `truth`.

  I don't know if it's been brought up or not but groups can take on their own collective consciousness--as if the group becomes an individual in of itself. I never got that from assemblies but I was on a whole 'nother wavelink. I have experienced it at various churches/synagogues and political functions. You can just tap into the collective consciousness and ride the wave. It is not indigenous of the JW's--it is any group that gets together. Go hang out with an angry mob and your subconscious will pick up anger. Go to a motivational speaker and you will walk away feeling like you can do anything in the world (which you can). Hang out at assemblies and you will probably pick up the vibe of unity (that is, we all dress, talk, walk the same, no individuation allowed--aren't we great?) and "go team" augmented with a heaping plateful of fear and guilt.

  Jewish Holidays

  since jw,s cannot celebrate "christian holidays" can they celebrate jewish holidays.

  i asked my mom this question never got an answer.. jesus was at the temple for the feast of the dedication for starters.. thoughts

  LOL z! this is so true! You never get finished with one that you're not already having to think about the next. And the food--oy! Then if you're shomer shabbos, forget about it--just chain yourself to the stove in the kitchen--you'll never get out. I finally cut it down to Chanukah, Pesach and Rosh Hashannah (oh, then we break the fast after Yom Kippur). I used to try to keep up with it all--no thanks! My father in law is now going all frum on us---I'm scared!!

  regardless of how you feel about jehovah's organization--the true religion, one thing for sure, you will not escape the almighty jehovah's judgement right along with satan the devil and his destructive organization.

  how will you save yourself and those who follow you...?

  it's ashame that your energies could not be put to a more positive use.

  Thank you for reading and replying to my post. I was not sure if you would. Of course, only you know why you are here in your heart of hearts--it's between you and your scriptwriter. I do sense a fairly sincere albeit frightened person in you between the hardcore party lines, jw. I for one am glad you are here. It offers a different pov, for one thing. It causes everyone to stop and re-evaluate and reaffirm their reasons for leaving (always a healthy thing). I, for one always come away very relieved that I left all of that fear-based worship behind. Now, I healthily respect, hold in awe, and Love my god(s)--there is no fear left in me.

  I may not understand your undying loyalty to a broken, tired system of fear-based worship, but glad you're here nonetheless.

  Keep posting. Keep reading. Release fear. Be free.

  I will attempt to answer your questions. I would love to have you answer the questions of previous posters. My answers will have little value and you will probably not be able to resonate with them as you are on a biblical path while I am not. But it is interesting once in a while to delve into the mind of a "true believer" in the Watchtower bible and tract society's infallibility so.....

  How will you save yourself and those who follow you...? To clarify, save them from what? If you mean "saving lives" from the fiery vengeance of a biblical tribal war god of the near east for failing to recognize the watchtower bible and tract society as his spokesperson on earth, then I simply cannot connect. Also, I have no "followers" nor do I attempt to procure any. I do not claim to be a spokesperson for god on earth.

  Again, I do not attempt to control other people's lives in anyway. One, it is a fruitless attempt, ultimately. You cannot control what another person thinks or feels in the end. You can, as demonstrated by those of us hardwired from birth as JWs make them fearful enough to tell you what you want to hear and also control (somewhat) behavior--but the human heart cannot be controlled, directed, or smothered. Two, I simply have no desire to "direct" others. I take in all input (even those of JWs) fairly respectfully. "...even the dull and ignorant, for they too have their story" (from Desiderata)

  Do you mean by this, talking, acting, "believing", behaving, dressing exactly the same? No thank you.

  Peace? Security? a futrue?

  Now, this is probably where you really will not resonate or understand my point of departure. We all carry the seeds of our own future, peace, security and therefore our futures within ourselves (free will) by the decisions and thoughts we make and have every minute. You are a product of what you believe to be your reality, I am a product of mine. You are only who the movie in the head says you are, my friend. If your starring role is to be a valiant fighter and squelcher of questioners and dissidents to your maternal organization and this fits your schema, helps you define your world simply and safely, then stay with it. I think, however, the script in your head must be taking a drastic plot turn, or you would not be here in the first place--and that makes you a tad fearful, doesn't it? Be well. Do not fear.

  "FLUFF" Things I do in the shower-------------

  now i cant be the only person who does 2 things at once eg eat and post on jwd but-----------.

  -----------while im having a shower i use a conditioner in my hair that you have to leave on for 2 minutes, so a person who doesnt like wasting time, while i wait i spray the shower and doors with cleaner wash the floor with a sponge with my feet.

  then when ive rinsed my hair i rinse down the shower and hey presto a sparkling shower !

  You should see me in the kitchen. Three course meal... By the time the plates of food hit the table, the kitchen is (almost) spotless and the preparation dishes are all in the dishwasher.

  hmmm...he's hot. he does dishes. he's reasonably intelligent. he's got working knowledge of Thelema...quite possibly the perfect man?
