I remember working with different people and laughing hysterically and not being able to stop... I used to occassionally do it when giving a talk or reading the watchtower too... That was pretty bad, funny looking back on it now though... I was destined for failure!

My brother used to shove the magazines in peoples letter boxes and count them as placements. Then he'd run out of mags really quickly and go home. My poor parents, us kids were only ever going to be rebels!

i'd like to get comments from people about whether and how much they were shocked, surprised, or otherwise bothered by the watchtower society's becoming an associated non-governmental organization (ngo).. note that i'd like to see these comments because they might lead to some interesting publicity, so please comment accordingly.. alanf

My best friend MissPeaches and I were regularly partnered up to go door knocking. That was trouble in itself! One morning we made it our goal to knock on as few doors as possible. We were out for 2 hours and knocked on 5 doors. Our tactic was the slow walk, letting the other pairs overtake us while we were "fixing our bag up" or "writing down a placement".

Wherever you go youre going to have an awesome time. Ive been to all the places that youre thinking of going and like everyone else on here has said i sont think youll struggle with the heat anywhere apart from some northern parts of Aust.
I think youd love NZ, its an absolutely amazing and beautiful place and you can see so much in a fairly short amount of time. Australia on the other hand is so big that it takes a lot of time to get from one place to another and flying is by far the easiest way to get around. Im with you on the heat though mate, I moved to Brisbane a couple of years ago and just about died from the humidity and heat over summer! Youre obviously not going to get that with Europe.
The only other bit of advice i can give you is that Aust and NZ are way way cheaper than Europe if thats a concern to you.

Hey all, this is my first post here and thought this topic was a beauty!!!
I managed to "disappear" but it took a fair bit of work. I moved states and went to 1 meeting, I told the elders in my old congregation that I would let them know what congregation i was going to be in after i moved. I never did. They once tried calling my parents who live overseas to find out where i had gone, also asking my brother who was still in the old congo. None of which caused them to find me!
Next is the move overseas... Ive never made a move with the goal to disappear from the JWs, its just been a positive outcome!!
