  ever get "caught" because someone spotted you on JWD?

  i've been thinking of changing my avatar or posting my picture, but due to my fasitidious paranoia, i hesitate with the possibility that some wit out there will venture too close and recognize me.

  does anyone know if anyone has ever been "caught" because of displaying their picture here?

  Should you try and call an old dub friend? What if you did?

  ok, sunnygal inspired this one.. today i wondered what would happen if i called an old dub friend.

  he's an elder.

  i met him in jr. high as he was in my metalshop class and i mentioned i was a witness.

  i'd say you should call him up.

  but don't get your expectations too high so you can be pleasantly surprised if he engages in further communication. and if he doesn't, you won't be overly disappointed.

  and if that doesn't work, i can be an old dub friend if you want and you can call me up anytime. i promise nothing but good times!

  Why are EX-JW's and JW's in doubt(faders) so ''afraid" of the elders?

  i have been out for years now but i still tremble alittle when i run into an elder at the store or run into an elder on the street and my post question certainly applies to me as well but why do i still have fear of jw's elders?

  i have been da'd for so many years but that fear still comes up.

  and reading alot of the post here i still see ex-jw's and jw's faders living a pretended jw life or pretending to be happy when they are miserable in the wt.

  just yesterday i was telling a friend about that fear.
  even down to going to the grocery store has become a chore.
  and it's not that i care if witnesses see me. i just don't want to see them.
  she could relate.

  had my ultrasound this morning, baby is healthy.

  I'm going back to the JW's

  if you can acccurately disprove the mathematics in the following i will be at the local kingdom hall first thing in the morning and ask the elders if i may rejoin them in worship.. here is some information i have compiled regarding what the watchtower has printed in regards to the babylonian kings and how the lengths of their reigns can be calculated to arrive at the date of the destruction of jerusalem by nebuchadnezzar.

  if you're like me you've probably remained totally clueless whenever the subject of the chronology leading to back 607 b.c.

  as the date for the destruction of jerusalem by nebuchadnezzar comes up.

  i almost skipped this thread entirely out of pure anger and frustration!
  i thought, there's no way any intelligent person would go back to that jw perfunctory way of life after all the evidence against the org.
  
  i'm so glad i did read it!!!
  i'm in the process of getting together all the references to prove the date is wrong to one of my "well-meaning" wit friends who thinks she can prove me wrong.
  i should post our email conversations here so you can get some reality tv à la JWD.

  as a jw..did you ever have a REAL theological discussion with anyone?

  this came up in a conversation with a non witness friend lately.

  he said its like i thought i was having theological discussions all the time but from what he could tell...i would go to the door with prearranged comments, which would illicit one of a few comments and my response would be as programmed as the initial comments.

  i'm no brainy person.. and freely admit i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.

  when we were both still jws, part of what attracted my now-ex-husband and i to each other was the fact that we could discuss theology past the set jw boundaries. to the point where it would at times make others in our jw group feel uncomfortable.
  
  however, outside of that, i don't think i had any other conversations. we both realized at the time, that our comments were not welcome.
