since months they are talking about war, and now it is happening.

Odd, that there are so many arrests at so called "peace" rallies, for violent outbreaks, and so little at so called pro-war rallies.

0 Arrestes in Seattle, and for the people that bitch about the traffic in Seattle, I work in downtown, there wasn't a problem, guess what ignorant fools, the protesters had a permit here, so talk to your mayor.

135 in Portland, (also had a permit) where the Mayor is the most Liberal on the west coast. Over 1,000 in San Francisco, many more in Chicago. Permits to demonstrate do not give them authorization to block roadways. destroy private property, pull people form cars and beat on them and such.

You will like my new bumper sticker, "CAUTION: THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT BRAKE FOR PROTESTERS." On the rear, "WELL, I WARNED YOU."

i went to my first peace rally and march tonight.

it was incredible.

at one time there were probably 350 of us all joined in solidarity.

I'm with Ring. I too am tired of the mamby pamby protesters demanding everyone cater to their whims. They don't give a damn about anyone or anything but their own socialist agenda. More than anyone, protesters love this war, since they believe they now can be heard.

For once, I have to agree with Rush Limbaugh, "Protesters don't count, because you can't count on them."

US troops, liberators not dominators

i saw an interesting quote on the yahoo news page.

i never heard this expressed and was wondering how the troops went into france at the end of wwii since they were liberating her not going to take her over.. wolford also told them to take down the u.s. flags from the tops of the tanks.

"we will be entering iraq as an army of liberation, not domination, so it would not be right to go in with the american flag flying," he said.

I didn't catch what area of Iraq it was, but the radio announced this morning that many Iraqis were celebrating the start of the liberation of Iraq. Speculation from Fox news has Iraqi military leaders already discussing turning on Saddam, but I emphasis, it is news speculation. I hope it is true and that this is short lived and the Iraqi people will soon have their freedom.

lots of opinions here on this site.

but i haven't seen anyone post an alternative to this war.

i know many of you support it and many others recoil at the thought of this war.

It's no secret which side I'm on. However, I am not happy to see war come, just the opposite. I do feel it is necessary, but wish it wouldn't have become so.

I can't say I would be doing much different than Bush has done, except, maybe approached the situation stronger a few months ago. I don't know if it would have been any different, but my diplomacy would have been a stronger approach with the other nations to get them to see that a united front along with the threat of what is currently going on could have been the best way to avoid it.

At the risk of once again being labled Bush Robot, Warmonger, idiot, or whatever todays catch word is, I think Bush is doing a good job and am very thankful I'm not in his shoes having to make these decisions. If it were Gore or Clinton having to take this stand, as much as I disliked their administration, they too would be receiving my support to get the job done.

Upwards of 40 nations supporting is still upwards of 40 nations, regardless of whether they send troops or not. Bush did not ask for troops, but for support. One is japan, whose constitution disallows any military involvement in foreign nations affairs, but they have agreed, voluntarily, to send troops to help with the refugees.

Spin it anyway you like, it has started and it will be finished and the Iraqis will be liberated. How will you spin it when the Iraqi people celebrate their liberation?

Maybe you think the San Francisco police were exaggerating the in excess of 1,000 protestors arrested today? I have yet to see any from the pro-America rallies arrested.

PRESIDENT BUSH AGREES TO MORE INSPECTORS IN IRAQ (AP) Washington DC Saturday, March 18, 2003 8:45 PM

President George Bush has announced that the US will not attack Iraq. The
President announced that he is agreeing to deploy additional inspectors
throughout Iraq.

The US will send 250,000 additional inspectors:

24,000 members of the 1st Infantry Division

15,000 members of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)

15,000 members of the 82d Airborne Division

More than 5,000 members of the 4th armored division with their "M1-A1
all-terrain vehicles"

Additional US Army personnel, as needed for inspections.

A variety of US Air Force personnel for aerial recon missions and other
"surveillance" activities.

A significant number of United States Marines to aid with inspections.

United States Coast Guard personnel to inspect coastlines.

An undisclosed number of Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Recon Marines,
Delta Force, and other Special Operations personnel to inspect
Iraqi "hideaways."

Special air deliveries to aid the inspections will be made by aircraft from
the USS Constellation, USS George Washington, USS Abraham Lincoln and USS
Enterprise.

The President said: "With these additional inspectors, the inspections
should be completed in a few weeks."
