  it depressed me.... while reading this article i could'nt help but to feel my self worth plummet.

  it made me realize one thing about their organization.

  discourage common sense and critical thinking!! You are not suppose to think for yourself. The Elders will do it for you! Just do as you are told!

  Discourage it, draw a line in the sand over how much to think about it. Hence the comparasion of us as "sheep".

  When they tell us "patience is salvation" according to their dogma, I boil, I climb into the red zone. We've experience this on many fronts, but at the same time the collective excuses this and say they will get their just dues, and not to worry.

  so we wait....and wait....

  But they always go back to the days of Noah right?

  hi everyone

  i was wondering what the watchtower thought about first aid courses as i've just completed a course run by st john's ambulance and when i told my friend who is an active jw she didn't seem too impressed.

  Welcome to the forum!

  They don't really frown upon such things, in fact they like that. Since they would be tempted to use you in the first aid department at conventions which was what I used to do long ago when I was deeply involved with them. You get to see so much stuff behind the scenes.

  i hadn't seen ladylee posting the last few days - it's not like her to leave without letting us know that she's going away, and i was getting worried, so i called her this morning.. she called me back... she's fine, but her computer is not.

  it had a major crash a few days ago, and she's been trying to get it up and running ever since.. let's make sure she knows that she's missed!

  That organization was simply wrong. It was out of step with God. It could not be directed by the Holy Spirit

  Yes, but i have a problem when they say the light's getting brighter and brighter. And then change doctrine, and use misplaced scriptures to supprot their reasonings. I have a problem with that. Just look at the "Satan" w.t study articles, or better yet don't.

  It's a waste of time.

  Just like with our little dogs. When we rattle the car keys and get their leashes out they go bonkers. If we did it over and over but never took them for a drive to the park they would soon loose heart.

  And when I read that article, that's what I felt like...a dog scurring around it's master for a walk outside or scraps from the dinner table.

  i believe jehovah's witnesses are trained to learn how to live a double life.

  we were trained to use subterfuge with teachers, the law, doctors and the courts.

  we were trained in "theocratic strategy" .

  My personality came through when I was living the worldly part of my life. I became incredibly talkative, funny, and exciting to be around. At the meetings and on service, I was quiet, shy, and shared very little of my true personality with others.

  It just becomes natural. You subconsciously know who you can be yourself around, and who you have to tiptoe around.

  That's pretty much it. I was the same way.

  DID I???

  As long as one is a witness, one will live life of dualism to some extent.

  My dad said those words.And I agree...When I was in I did'nt wear my belief on my sleeve like so many of my peers at that time.

  When I did, my ass was beaten EVERYDAY. But the thing was, I liked it. To me it was all for their god's glory. At least in my mind anyway...

  But then I snapped, and after that it was off to continuation school I went.

  When I went to one of the worst continuation schools here in the bay, that's when I got smaet and kept things to myself. I was never messed with though, i just did'nt try to change the world like so many others at the time were told to do. I did though give positive vibes and words to those around me.I never smoked, never drank, never caused problems. They knew I was different...they just put a finger on WHAT made me different.I never told them.

  Thanks for putting him on here. I love his work, his images he used with black and white through his own eyes were stunning and served as an influence for me in what I'm doing as well. He was ARTIST in every sense of the word.

  I respected his work, and him as a man.

  as some of you may know, i'm still an active witness and i'm still in the planning stages of my "escape".

  i met a sister at a district convention a year ago and i've been talking to her on aim for a while.

  i think she is very amusing considering that she is very intelligent and often voices her views on the doctrinal falicies of the wtbs, but when its my turn to give my two cents she makes it seem as if i'm the only poztate.

  But that's GOT to bother her, especially if hs is the self righteous one. I know it would somewhat bother me if I was a hard core dub brotha and hearing my dad spout off at the mouth about the dangers of PrOn and how disgusting it is, then come home from service and find him sprawled out on the couch with a towel and PrOn playing in 5.1 surround sound....I would go blind.

  My brother's friend told me he caught his own dad watching the playboy channel, there he was; trying to watch the images through the interference. To me, they're just men, average horny guys...like us

  But seriously I would go blind.
