If we would have had triplets, I would have named them, Huppim, Muppim and Ard (Gen 46:21)

which biblical names do you like, and maybe you'd name your child that way?.
i like this one: bathsheba.

I named my oldest son Maher-shal-al-hash-baz. We call him Jonathan for short.

i have a mix of friends from democrat to republican.
i am a registered independent myself.
i have heard it said, and watched in the news the obvious moves by the democrats, to put this woman in place to run for the office of president.
I think she will win. Likely pick John (don't hurt the terrorists) McCain as her running mate.
Then, I wonder who the dems will blame everything on?
I look forward to listening to Rush Limbaugh for 8 years bashing her.
Seriously, Clinton would have been a better president if he just wouldn't have lied under oath, and hadn't given military and technological secrets to China.
Clinton was at least able to speak in whole sentences.
If the Republicans would have left him alone I think he would have been able to focus quite a bit better. But the Dems are doing the same things to Bush.
I think it should be somehow against the law to badger a president so bad that he loses concentration on the real issues.

this time it wasn't coffee liquour.. i sat by her...stupid idea...she asked a question...i laughed uncontrolably...she asked if i was drunk...i sobered up quick unlike mel gibson..."of course not"...she said she will take me to the elders since jehovah does not accept drunkenness.
cool..i'll take drunkeness over apostasy any idea (edit: day) ... i drink to that!
.
I would rather face them for apostasy.
It makes the elders more nervous.

when i was in the witnesses, and near the end of my time in.
there was the whole new understanding, of putting non-anointed people in positions in the organization that were normally something an anointed person would be in.
i remember them mentioning that the amount of anointed was dwindling and there needed to be people in these positions of responsibility, to make sure the work continues.. after this was highlighted and all good witnesses swallowed this thinking hook line and sinker.
If I was of the annointed I woudld want to know why the GB doesn't consult with me
when making decisions, especially since they claim to represent the annointed earthwide.
How can you represent me when you don't even acknowledge me?
What I have learned in the course of my unbrainwashing is that....there are no annointed. This is just a made up thing, to be able to govern the flock. If you do research on the first president of the WTS Rutherford a supposed annointed and drunkard Rutherford another supposed annointed you realize that this is all bunk, these guys did things that were very questionable to say the least. I believe that some people convince themselves that they are annointed (whatever that really means), maybe they go into some kind of trance where they feel weird stuff, but more than likely they have mental issues, I have known a few where this was definitely the case.
The fact that the GB doesn't give a damn what any of them has to say all the while teaching that these people are the ones handling the spiritual food given to the R & F, is a clear sign that they themselves know this is BS, I mean come on, what are the chances that Freddie Franz was of the annointed and somehow his nephew Ray (whom I do admire) eventually happens to be annointed too.
At one point of my awakening after I was convinced that the WTS was wrong, I believed that the evil slave was leading them and that Jehovah would clear it up, back when I would post on ewatchman this is what he believes, I began researching different translations of the bible and bought an NIV bible, wow, I was blown away at what a difference a good translation makes, at one point I started seeing how the WTS has undermined Jesus's role in the religion, how everything is only about Jehovah, my appreciation for Jesus and his sacrifice grew so much, that out of the blue I said "Jesus I accept you into my heart" what happened next really was amazing, I felt overcome with love, I had goosebumps and just felt an incredible feeling" I was confused to say the least, I started believing that we all go to heaven, just from reading the bible because this is what is appears to say, in Romans.
IC-- although I really can identify with most of your post, it is hard right now for me to come to the conclusion that you did about the Bible. But your statements above are sooooo true.
Thank you both for sharing.

i'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!
I think your posting has helped show some of the humanity that is struggling inside the elder suits that walk in many congregations. That is something very good to see.

Bebu wrote the above. I really agree with her.
It is a horrible struggle to get free of the WT and it takes a long time.
This DB is a school of its own. Some of us get wrapped up in an argument and don't think about saying or doing the kind and considerate thing. We have all been on both sides of the table on this one. I tried to quit a couple of times, but you just have to lick your wounds and get back in there.
Most of the time, when someone gets rude in their post, and like I said, all of us have done it, the rest of the posters get madder at the rude one than the one taking a beating.
Give it some thought.

minimus started a thread about people counseling a co and if they ?dared?
well hell ?
are they above counsel?
I totally agree.
One time we had one in tears at an elders meeting because he was so arrogant. After that he said that the visit to our hall was his favorite in the circuit.
Another time at an elders meeting I sailed into a DO counseling us for having 'worldly friends' that we might entertain, or take to a meal. He made fun of anyone that would do it, saying, "Jehovah's Witnesses do not have "worldly friends".
I alone laid into him with vehemence. I told him that if all I did was travel around in a 5th Wheeler and park at Kingdom Halls and had the brothers handing me all the money I needed that I would agree with him. I said that some of us did not live off the brotherhood and had to work for a living and sometimes this involved entertaining.
He got mad, and wouldn't use me for the memorial prayer as I was assigned that year.
He did tone down, but he was hot.

untitled document <!-- .style1 {font-family: verdana} --> should the governing body of jehovah's witnesses be held accountable?
understandably, this question is going to create some controversy.
however, think for one moment?
I agree with Gary.
The position of trust that they have mandated to themselves puts them in a very responsible position. They are all aware of the 'worshipful attitude' that the rank and file have for the headquarters and specifically the GB, and therefore, no matter how kind or nice or loving that they seem, they are part of an evil mechanism that subjugates minds and hearts to a course of life and action that oppresses free and serious thought regarding theological issues, and to make matters worse, they do not have theologians or even Bible scholars up there directing the work.
It is abundantly clear that they would rather educate a lawyer than a scholar.

is there anyone here that is diabetic that could answer something for me?
i am doing the finger sticking 4 times a day and have weird stuff happening.
i am very new to this and cannot afford the "training session" that my doctor wanted me to go to......just found out my friend was just diagnosed about the same time i was....and she cannot afford the same session either!.
I have type 2 diabetes.
I check my blood in the mornings before I eat.
I use that as an indicator if the medicine is working ok or not.
My doctor wants me to test at different times, and after eating different things, to get an idea of what is the worst for me.
In the mornings, I have been around 140 for several months. Before I went on the medication I was around 200+ in the mornings.
I need to exercise and lose about 50 pounds. Probably wouldn't even have it then.
So much for self-control.
