i simply gradually quit going.
of course, this was many years ago and maybe the "rules" have changed, but rather than create drama among my family, i just let them think i was becoming materialistic and spiritually weak.
at least it kept them talking and associating with me rather than cutting me off.
at this point in organization history a lot of people are not allowed to fade. We quit meetings 11 months before they disfellowshipped us over the UN/NGO deal. Course I wrote 4 letters to the WT during that time. Brant
months have passed now since mr c and i officially separated.
so why can't i get over it?
why am i still jealous?
You are a cutie pie Miss Crumpet.
Remember the saying, "Time Wounds all Heals". Whoops! I meant to say, "Time Heals all Wounds".
You'll be allright again before you know it.

im going down to cajun harley today and im not leaving without a bike.. too bad i cant fit 100 lbs of crawfish on it .
IP-Sec,
Thank you for remembering me. I never did get to Uvalde for a talk, but did once in Del Rio, as my dad was there for a while. I loved Uvalde and the general area though because of the Rio Frio and Garner State Park.
I hope you are well. I guess you are in Louisiana for a while?
RE: bikes, I usually don't ride a heck of a lot in the high traffic situations. Every year I make a point to go to Colorado or New Mexico for some mountain and desert riding. This year I am kicking around a trip to Montana. (Not for sure)
I have ridden almost every road in New Mexico, both south around the Silver City area as well as the Gila Wilderness, east in the Ruidoso area and north between Albuquerque and Gunnison Colorado. I love those rides, but don't care a whole lot for riding locally in Kansas City.
I hope you get your bike. I have wanted to ride a V-rod for years but never had the privilege. It looks awsome though. I really would like to get a Gold Wing one of these days and do some serious riding, but that will have to wait until I can quit working.
I hope you are well. I liked your thread.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/07/science/earth/07climate.html?_r=1&th&emc=th&oref=slogin.
another international slate of scientists have released their findings regarding global climate change and human's effect on that (see the above link).. after the last major study released by several hundred scientists a few months ago, it does seem there is a serious concensus here among the leading thinkers and scientists on this issue.
i know i've banged heads with a few who disagree with this, but it does seem as though that handful of folks who disagree with the science are looking more and more like deniers, as in holocaust deniers, moon landing deniers, etc.. in other words, out there on the lunatic fringe.. so, do you folks think it might be time to reconsider?.
Does it cause a pause for thought for anyone when you realize that the terminology "GLOBAL WARMING" has generally been replaced with the expression "CLIMATE CHANGE".
That, along with the "CARBON FOOTPRINT" tax computations makes me realize where all of this is most likely coming from and going to.
From here it looks like the UN is trying to figure a way to tax world citizens. Am I being totally stupid or is this seen as a possible motive for them first pushing global warming and then the easier climate change venue?

IPsec--I have one that looks just like this one, except in Chopper Blue. I say go for it. I love mine.
You probably don't remember, but we met last year at Tex's house.

watching all the pundits on tv after the killings at va tech yesterday, there were a handful of things that kept getting repeated that are just stupid.
usually they also require an impossible level of hindsight (which a good number of the pundits have, it seems).
i've just got to rant about this for a few minutes.

If only the shooter had enrolled himself in Bethel instead of college.
Amen to that.

seeker 4,
good post. Most of the people crying for more protection and more laws are pissed off when they have to go to the airport 2 hours early to stand in line while security is checking Grandma Jones and some woman with a 3 month old baby.
There are already too many laws, and there is no way to protect everyone. I say bring back the Colt 45 Peacemaker. (Partially joking- however, if everyone was carrying the guy wouldnh't have killed over 30 people.
Many liberals that want more government control also bitch about the "Homeland Security" laws and complain about losing our freedoms.
Its just a crazy world, and everyone tries to play the blame game or the lets protect everyone all the time.
700,000 people a year die from doctors mistakes.
50,000 a year die from car accidents (including drunk drivers)
How many hundred thousand a year die from smoking?
It just goes on and on.
Thanks for posting this subject.
Your post was pause for thought.

looks like the wts is morphing into a totally diferent religion.
they are trying to get new converts any way they can at the same time they are trying to patch previous doctrine in an attempt to give the illusion of true prophecy.. hey wts, no matter what you do it won't work.
the 1914 date is pure fiction, so is 1918/19.
I was in 45 years (from 15) to almost 60. My wife all here life, 60 years.
We left because of the NGO hypocrisy. 11 months AFTER we quit going, although we left THEM alone, they came after us and disfellowshipped us.
Never been any happier!
Doctrinally, I had a lot of trouble with their insertion of the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" in every paragraph since 1980. Also had trouble with the lack of a real 1975 apology. Had real trouble with the neutrality change in the 90's as I went to prison for neutrality during the Viet Nam war.
When they disconnected 1914 from the "generation" in 1995 I almost got the courage to quit. In 1997 they made a statement to the effect that even though there was corruption in the organization, Jehovah was not about to reject them. When I read that, I turned to my wife and said. "They are not God's People anymore."
Although I now believe that they never were, the process of leaving the organization took me 25 years. Enough is enough.

for you "old timers"...lol!
what was procedure if someone seriously sinned and needed to confess?
also, was there less disfellowshipping going on?

How do I trust an answer from a cat w/sunglasses???? Anyways. Was the Bible Study servant the precursor to the Field Service servant? I came in in 1970.
Juni
Yes, the Bible Study Servant was changed to Field Service Overseer in 1972 when the elder arrangement came.
Before the elder arrangement, all of the "servants" were considered Ministerial Servants. The only Overseer was the Congregation Servant.
