Jael acted courageously, seizing the opportunity to throw in her lot with the Israelites. As a tent dweller, she was used to driving tent pins into the ground with a hammer. So, with a tent pin in one hand and a hammer in the other, Jael stealthily approached ~~Sisera,~~ (THE WATCHTOWER) who was sound asleep on his ~~side~~ ASS. Selecting the weakest part of his skull, she positioned the tent pin and drove it into his head. Later, when Barak appeared on the scene, Jael showed him what she had done. There before him lay ~~Sisera~~, (THE WATCHTOWER) dead with the pin through his temples. The courageous Jael had shared in the fulfillment of Jehovah’s word through Deborah. Later, when the victory was memorialized in music, Deborah and Barak sang: "Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite will be most blessed among women, among women in the tent she will be most blessed."—Judg. 4:21, 22; 5:24-27.

THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?

i was watching this documentary on the various galaxies and it stated that the universe is still expanding, planets are being created as we speak.

it also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.

what do you believe about the universe?

as promised here is all of the info regarding what has been going on.

per the last jc with the elders i realized that all i had done was buy time.

they felt that we should be df'ed right on the spot, but because i made a plea to wait for a letter coming back from the wts they decided to hold on taking such action.

congratulations to you and your wife. Sounds like you really handled it well.

But in this case, I have to agree with Dawg: I would have busted that son of a bit** right in the mouth.

Anyway, we are celebrating our 1st year as disfellowshipped ones, and I wouldn't have it any other way. So many of those people are just horrible humans.

she was almost exactly the same age as me - we were born just days apart.

she had battled cancer for almost a decade.

The funeral talk is an outline. Leaves under 5 minutes to discuss the person and their accomplishments, the rest is devoted to trying to hook people who are attending to begin attending meetings.

It is simply another sales meeting.

Small dog Owners, best breed?

my mom is slowly losing her old cat and her heart is breaking.

she would like to adopt a small dog.

I have two small dogs.

One is a Rat Terrier, and he is great. Very even tempered, not too loud or restless and a real lap type dog. Great personality. Likes to "pretend fight" with me.

The other is a problem child. She is a Jack (Jane) Russell. She is a bitch. Absolutely food driven. Good watch dog. Smarter than me. She is like what I imagine a Tasmanian Terror to be. More energy than you can imagine. Foot prints on the ceiling type energy.

She is a beautiful dog, I really like her though, and when I don't want to kill her, I want to hug her. I guess that's the way bitches are.

X MS, Elders, COs., and DOs.....your thoughts?

i wonder how it strikes you when you read of those facing or have faced one of your tribunals?.

as x men in charge, how do you feel reading the pain and panic here?.

I feel bad about having sat in judgement on my fellow men and women who basically were mostly good folks.

I did try hard to be kind and loving and never voted to disfellowship if a person wanted to stay in. In fact one of my questions was always, would you like to stay in the congregation and work through this thing?

If they said they wanted to I would try to influence the others to let them have a chance.

I always said that if they didn't really mean it, we would have an opportunity to disfellowship in the future if necessary.

I did get to disfellowship a horrible, PRESIDING OVERSEER PEDOPHILE. I am not ashamed of that one. At All.

Why are congregations dissolved?

only once in my life have i heard of a congregation being dissolved (closed down) for reasons of sin.. .

has anyone here heard of congs being closed down?

I know of a couple of cases of congregations being dissolved.

In some cases the groups are so small that they have no elders in the territory, so volunteer elders come to serve at the cong. Then, after some time, the elders may need to move on or die or whatever, and it leaves the group without the loving oversight of a God/Organization appointed shepherd, and the congregation is dissolved, basically for lack of interest.

In one case, the entire body of elders may have a "key club" like one that was reportedly in Paris, Texas. It was my understanding that the cong. was dissolved.

Another case was in Bonham, Texas, where the "trustees", elders who acted legally on behalf of the congregation, decided that they didn't want to be part of the WT Society anymore. In that case, they took the Kingdom Hall with them! Congrats to them.
