When my sister and I went to them to report abuse at the hands of an elder we were called liars. To this day I have great rage when I think of the elder body, I pity the idiot elder who decides to come knock on my door.

Did You Feel "Beat Up" By The Elders/Organization???
by minimus inmetatron made a great point about how jws might be leaving in more earnest because of being beaten up by the talks that the brothers give.
"are we decorating our homes more than we should be?"....etc.
did you suddenly figure out that you were just sick and tired of being berated every week??

Embarrassing...........
by beachbugg inok, i was giving one of those rehearsed skits during the ministry school meeting one time and i got the giggles..........seriously bad situation.
the lady sitting across from me forgot "her line" and it struck me funny.
the more i tried to get past it, the funnier it became.

When my little sis and I were teenagers we would often push the boundries on "acceptable" attire. She once wore this white skirt that was "well fitted" and got more than one disapproving look. I was sitting behind her and when we got up for the song I noticed that the zipper had COMPLETELY split, only to expose her black g-sting panties in all thier glory.I started laughing SO hard I could not even lean forward to tell her. To make matters even more embarrasing the lady beside me grabbed her kid's blanket and tossed it to her behind. My god, 15 years later and I still laugh. My sister still has yet to see the humour in it.

I usually get up late(actually I just got up, it's 1:45 pm) cause I get home from my bar job at around 4 am. My husband takes my son to the gym on Sundays so its a nice quiet morning(afternoon) for me. AHHHHHH, I love Sundays.

I was shunned today in the post office.
by outoftheorg inwell this poor jw walked to the table to sort out the throw aways just as i headed there also.. i saw him and smiled, then he dropped his head to not look at me.
we both sorted out the things for the trash bin and were only about 20 or so inches apart.. i remember him coming to my house when my daughters were young girls and he wanted to get aquainted.. maybe i should have spoken to him but i just looked at him and he refused to even look back.. how sad.
he always has this really sad disappointed look on his face.

I had figured I was so over the shunning, but I was at the grocery store the other day and my sister n law walked by me as if I didn't exist. Considering they didn't even acknowledge the birth of my son 7 years ago I should not have been surprised, but it really got my goat this time. I am over it now tho, So I say "whatever".

I am new to this site, just wanted to add my 2 cents. Do not even get me started on Elder horror stories, too many to count. The last one while still in the JDub Club was my loving Elder brother-in-laws shepherding visit saying "How can you and (hubby) do this to me?" in reference to our decision to leave Jehovah. That summed it all up for me, not a care for my spiritual death but what it looked like for him and his perfect family and the gossip it would likely cause in the Kindom Hall. It's been over 10 years and I haven't looked back. Except to stumble onto this site and remember old wounds.
