when jesus was baptized he received jehovahs holy spirit .the significant thing is that he was anniointed in revelation the 7th or 114th chapter it mentions that 144,ooo would be joint heirs with christ for a kingdom.most first century christians fall into this category firdt they received water baptism but later they were annointed with jehovahs holy spirit which made their heavenly hope possible they were baptized into his death because you have to die to receive the heavenly ressurection.thats why you see some watchtower articles that say some would never taste death at all there will be some that will be living during the end of this system of things that will live on without ever having to die but dont worry those who fall asleep in death that are not annointed will also have the prospect of ressurestion and everlasting life.so thats why you got to die to go to heaven not neccessary for those for an earthly hope just depends whether you make it ot the time when he acts upon this wicked system of things i am sure that will clear things up

Baptism for the dead
by M.J. inwhat on earth was paul talking about in 1 cor 15:29: "now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead?
if the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?".
it's one of his main arguments for a bodily resurrection to the corinthians.

your best bet is to contact jehovahs witnesses locally they would be more than happy to share that info with you there is a brochure that give a brief but detailed overview of the history of jehovahs witnesses there is also a book that we use in our studies that discusses more in depth the history of the watchtower society it is called the proclaimers book.ask them theyll help you to fil;l in the gaps of what you know plus there are alot of people that dislike us so its really best to hear from us .dont worry alot of people say terrible things about us but if all you want is that info they wont consider you obligated

Contradiction in NWT

you need first to understand what it means to call upon the name of jehovah in order to call upon him you have to be in line with bible principles to be able to call on him in the first place a only those that obey jehovah can call upon him .to call upon him we have to pray to him in order for our prayers to be heard we have to be obedient also to call upon him means we follow his scriptural principles and so forth in the bible and act on them jesus is the salvation that jehovah supplied to us if we reach out for that salvation he bought back with his perfect life what adam has tossed away a perfect life for a perfect life thus ransom sacrifice to make it simpler look how we pray we address our prayers to jehovah god then we pray for things that are scripturally acceptable trto him the most important thing is our spirituality and things that will affect our worship to gain help from his holy spirit but at the end of all our prayers we pray through jesus name because his sacrifice makes it possible to approach jehovah directly thus no more need ofr animal sacrifices.what jesus spoke about on earth was about his father and the kingdom that was his focus so calling on jehovah to be saved in a nutshell means being obedient but we also must recognize and have faith in jesus sacrifice because without that sacrifice there would be no salvation .

Jephtah's daughter - human sacrifice or not?
by DannyBloem incan somebody bring some light to this question?.
judges chapter 11.. if you read vers 31 it looks clear that jephtha is speaking about human sacrefice.
"he speaks about a burn offering for jehovah of the first thing or person that walks out of his house.

jephthas daughter was promised to jehovah because he vowed that whomever came out of his house first would be promised ti jehovah and not marry this was a real sacrifice on both jephthas and his daughter she because she would not be able to do what every woman her age was supposed to fulfill in those days womens dreams were to have children they were even made fun of if they didnt bear any it was the culture her father on the other hand would not have any one to carry on the family name and his family line would end that was also a big deal back then because family lines were of great importance many things revolved around them so it was a reall sacrifice for both of them

Watchtower failing in it's stated purpose
by yaddayadda inthe watchtower is failing in it's stated purpose contained on the inside cover of every issue.
"it keeps watch on world events as these fulfill bible prophecy".
when was the last time you read an article that discussed current world events and how they are related to bible prophecy?
-
ezra
the watchtower keeps watch on world events to help us understand how close we are the watchtower usually focuses in its cover article about world situations that affect many people then with application of the scriptures shows how to best deal with these situations until he acts and shares with people about when these difficulties for mankind will end the watchtower articles deal mainly with deep spiritual thoughts and in depth research on anything that affects our spiritual well being also many study artticles take prophecy and breaks it down to easier understanding with scriptures throughout the bible that back up whta it discussed as for the destruction of all mankind but witnessess i have never seen people referred to as coakroaches or any other derogatory way some people behave badly and can be very cruel and some can be very kind it really is up to individuals which way they would like to live their lives.the organization will not water down the truth and lie to you about not taking decisive action to ensure your survival and the end of this system of things you have a right to exercise your free will you really can do what you want but not without consequences .in todays world if you break the law you are expected to understand the consequences but even then people dont think they should be punished.the watchtower and awake help people tp understand the bible better and it is also an invitation to learn more and to also have that opportunity for everlasting life.there are so many religions out there today that preach the bible but prove false to its teaching so it is understandable for you to be confused when there is a religion that refuses to compromise scriptural principles .

What did they do with them?
by Woodsman in(numbers 31:17-18) 17 and now kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has had intercourse with man by lying with a male.
18 and preserve alive for yourselves all the little ones among the women who have not known the act of lying with a male.
the more i read between the lines the more disturbing it all gets.

dear woodsman the midianites actually conspired to get israelites to disobey jehovah because they knew he would not back them up if they committed gross sin.the virgins were left and taken in because they were not contaminated by fornication and the little males would have taught the ways of the baal of peor so forth and so on so all that was allowed to remain alive out of the midianites were those that were innocent.

Jehovah, The Imposter God
by THE SHOOTIST inwhat was jehovah thinking when he put that tree in the middle of the garden and the told adam and eve not to eat of its fruit?
the real all-knowing god would never have done such a thing.
didn't he know that making the tree and the fruit would absolutely ruin this perfect man and woman?

the tree was meant for a future purpose and besides if you leave you car somewhere does that give someone the right to steal it/ the same is true with the tree it was his not theirs another thought was they didnt touch that tree until satan tempted them.they didnt lose their trust until someone tempted them to doobt gods intentions kind of like this forum

ALL SCRIPTURE 'INSPIRED' BY GOD......
by Mary inthis doesn't make alot of sense to me, because the word "inspire" can have alot of different meanings, as i've copied from the merriam-webster online dictionary below.
while i definitely believe in god, i think that #5 is probably closer to the truth.
if i write a book or a song and say i was inspired by elvis, that doesn't mean that elvis wrote it or even approved it-----it simply means that i wrote it with him in mind.

all scripture is inspired of god .it might be important for you to look at the grouping of words it says is inspired of god present tense of god or meaning from god
