  i've posted a few times on this site but really just like to read the posts.. i wanted to know if anyone can tell me about a book for teens that the dubs have.

  my mother gave it to my 13 year old son and i'm really angry.

  i have made it very clear i want nothing to do with those people and do not want my children exposed to it.

  she, unfortunately, has made sure the kids know i'm upset about this. which has lead to my kids feeling stuck in the middle.

  the tough part about discussing this and other life issues with her, is she decides she is right and has done nothing wrong. this is the same woman who feels that i should not date anyone, even though i've been divorced for 9 years and am in my 40's! i'm very concerned about the influence she has with my children. they are not even allowed to say grace the way we say it when she's around. she even pushes it in my home which infuriates me even more.

  i don't even want a seed planted. the funny thing is, less then a month ago, i made it very very clear that i never wanted anything to do with them, don't want them at my door, don't want my kids exposed to any of their teachings. i think i'm very angry that she did this behind my back and knows how i feel about it then lied about where the book came from! it's been many years that i have had any association with the dubs and plan on keeping it that way. my brother and i feel like all the things we were taught has screwed up both of us regarding close personal relationships, i.e. marriages. that is not something i want to happen to my children.

  good point. he is young for that info. however, he and i have had discussions regarding sex, puberty, etc. i just don't want any 'guilt' crap put on him.

  i plan on dumping it when he gets home. however, how do i deal with my mother? she's not active anymore and even lied to me when i asked if it was a JW book.

  i'm not sure. my kids are on vacation with my parents, she just gave it to him. he said something about their being chapters regarding dating, sex, etc.

  i have been reading all of the feed back for saddler and the others.

  i too have been in a relationship with a jw for a little over a year.

  i love her very much but all the abuse i have taken over the pass year from her elders, uncles, grandfather...etc has really taken it's toll on me.

  When i was a dub, i had a wonderful worldly boyfriend, he was the love of my life. My mother and the elders interferred so much that he couldn't take it anymore after 2 1/2 years. he didn't want me to choose between my 'family' and him, he thought i might hold that against him in some way. now my mother is inactive and gasp, even had a blood transfusion to save her life. but to this day has never apologized for ruining that relationship. i ended up marrying outside, i had faded already, got divorced after having two children. to this day i still wonder what my life would have been like had no one interferred in that relationship. anyway, my point is, she is under so much pressure and is having so much guilt put on her that she probably has no idea which way to turn.

  i feel for you and hope it all works out and that you two can be happy together without the dubs.
