I think the scripture was worth reading as a start to the day but "the comments " was used as a way to encourage by the field service conductor before going out, but i used to chuckle to myself when the materila was'nt appropriate for the field that day and then see the conductor struggle for comments on the comments and then give up and say ...OK that's not applicable brothers and then give the prayer!

Elders appointed by Holy Spirit???
by wozadummy indo you remember years ago this was mentioned among the brothers in conversations about elders?
yet i cannot ever recall being directed to a scripture which proved all elders were appointed by holy spirit.
it seems that everyone just accepted that they were, including myself , and yet how is this possible considering how many i've seen were corrupt when appointed.. any others think about this when in the org

Voting at meetings
by wozadummy inyears ago when i went to meetings there were announcements made about use of money ,whether to redecorate halls, send money to the society etc.
and i used to vote like everyone else looking around to see if there were any detractors.
well one day i had thought about the procedure and came up with this:.

It does really seem that the JW's are run by a human spirit and not a Holy Spirit when one considers these experiences.Perhaps the giving to publishers the right to vote on some things was a way to make them feel they at least had some control ,as a token , but it still really is a counterfiet way to express unity when one feels they have to vote positively to keep unity.

Oh "shining one" I suspect your thinking is as black and white as your avatar - anger ,depressive and cyclic thoughts which belie your obvious un christian way in communicating with others who may be wrestling with life and it's complexities.
How about this true story:
At age eight a JW girl is sexually abused by her father for years till she started menstuating and was only free from him for fear she might get pregnant, the mother knew about this and proxied her daughter. All those years she would pray out loudly and in her little heart in desperation for the pain to end.
Is this then evidence that she was at fault with god, her faith was not pure in your cruel opinion?
As I suspect you will come back with some dogmatic ,ignorant , in human and un godly statement ,so I presume you to be an angry lonely and depressive fool crying for attention!

Hi Blondie ,you are right some things are paid for like utilities without a vote and that was the thing, why not all things?, for the account balance and expense details are always presented from the platform once a month anyway so everyone would know where the dollars go.
My perspective was from back then when I trusted the Society to see to ALL things as being in the best interest of the publishers. Since then I have found how corrupt it all is and don't attend but I believe this all shows how God is not backing them and it was maybe one more doubt that over the years contributed to me leaving

Years ago when I went to meetings there were announcements made about use of money ,whether to redecorate halls, send money to the Society etc. and I used to vote like everyone else looking around to see if there were any detractors. Well one day I had thought about the procedure and came up with this:
1. Everyone seems to vote the way that's obvious as it would seem disloyal to vote any other way
2. Is'nt this a non political org and yet here we are voting democratically - if indeed this is Gods org why would we need to vote over money as the Elders should be trusted to manage these minor things especially in view of the fact that they are appointed to deal with peoples LIVES and emotions to the point of making grevious errors in some cases, where is the consistency?
I stopped voting for these reasons and explained this if queried by others but they always went quiet, what are your thoughts?

My first post may have appeared that I meant to name people but no ,by using the word "alledged" I was only using a term that is used legally .
In these sorts of cases there are many people accused ,some admit but most don't and until a case is proven beyond a doubt legally it is proper to use the term "alledged" which I have done. But that does not mean an accused perpetrator is innocent because we see on the news stories of people who have committed crimes ,been seen by many witnesses, and yet is still veiwed as "alledged" until a courts decision.
The thing is to a victim or victims who have directly been molested there is no Alledged just a PERPETRATOR and this is where we and my wife are coming from - WE HAVE the right and authority by virtue of being victims to speak out even if not naming the perps but put their location forward to Silent Lambs .In the Org a committee of say three is set up and NO_ONE else is told not even the other Elders. In a congregation where trust and brotherly love is to be displayed it is far from the average publishers mind that Perpetrators exist in their congo.
I can see it damaging to innocents to be maligned if they are innocent and in no way would I like to see an unjust thing happen to any JW BUT this sort of thing is rare whereas molestation is'nt. We have experienced many stories of molestation but have not spoken out because we are not involved personally but have advised them disceetly when asked.
Two Elders used this excuse why the Org takes no action against alledged molesters -"What iff we accused someone who was innocent?" My reply was as stated above that it is rare and if they were any sort of Elders they should know the appearence of the flock and if an accuser seemed vindictive and had personnal vendettas etc in the past that should alert them to have doubts.
So what do they really mean then! Here we have 99 victims (Genuine) and one fake so we just ignore the lot!!!?
It is sad that his world is so complex especially in the secretiveness of moletation ,but where people know for sure like us what has transpired we have to speak out, and this we have done and we will be cut off from the JW"s soon for sure like so many others .
Those who have been effected I ask to speak here in Oz to alert others of a growing problem and protect by knowlege not protect the guilty like the governing body-check out the letter to the body of elder in England and see what I mean (BOE June1 2001) They there state as long as Bethel says it's OK a Elder or MS who is a molester from years previous can ,if apparently not doing any bad acts currently, continue on and if they move the new congo is not to be informed of his crime.!
