I agree with Joseph malik ,the only thing unique with Jesus's death was he died sinless whereas Stephen died a sinner ,yet he Chose to martyr himself at the hands of persecuters the same as jesus ,and in that way they had parallel deaths.

by Honesty inchapter 6 page 28 paragraph 3 of the revelation book claims that jesus was indeed "the first" human to be resurrected to immortal spirit life.
(colossians 1:18) moreover, he is "the last" to be so resurrected by jehovah personally.

My JW life.
by PEC inmy sister and i were raised in the "truth", by our mother alone, working for minimum wage.
as a young child, i remember being give a dollar or two every week to put in the contribution box at the kh, my mother was making $40 to $60 a week and gave that cult $2, plus the gas for fs, plus the cost of books and magazines.
we had 6 6' tall bookcases all full of the watchtower and awake annual volumes, back to the 50's or 40's, plus every book the wtbts ever published.

I'm sorry MrsMcD for being away so long , I just had to collect my thoughts during the day .Also sorry to hear about your husband but this is something that is unbelievable. It reminds me of a girl I knew when I was a teenager, she had gone out with a freind of mine for a while and he told me ,when they had broken up ,that she had a penchant for some unusual sexual behaviour.
Well I was asked by her to take her to see a drive-in movie ,and ,borrowing another freinds van we went and reversed it up to see the movie. We had a matress in the back and when I fell asleep I awoke to her doing something that my freind had warned me about - she was there with her pants down and her hand in my pants! Well normally guys would say it was a dream come true but unfortunately I awoke and recalled what my mother used to do to me when I was a little kid ,I was woken up angry and I let her know it.
We talked about it after I had calmed down and she admitted to me she had this problem of being turned on by fiddling up a man when he is asleep. Apparently my freind used to play upon her desires and pretended to be asleep and she would go thru the whole act! So women do it too.
I went out with her for a while and she agreed not to touch me like that anymore because it had only been a short time that I actually had been able to have sex with a woman . Up till then I would feel sick if a girl wanted to be intimate with me because it made all my bad memories come back from my mother molesting me.
It's no real mystery is it that the JW's suck us into a place where we think we are safe from the bad in this world ? Then when I married my second wife she tells me she was molested by her Elder father! And this goes to court this week so we hope to get some justice from the system 'cause she sure did'nt get it from the WTS when we were conned in there.

My computer blew up.... Literally!!! BANG!!! :S
by Elsewhere ini needed to reboot so i did a normal shutdown.
no big deal.. it shutdown and started to come back up but never got past the post.
so i rebooted again and got the same thing... i opened it up to see what was going on and noticed there was a lot of dust collected on the cpu cooling fan and fins.

Thanks for this, it explains what I thought had been something only I had experienced.
The main time this happened to me I was studying with JW's in 1982 and was under alot of stress at the time making changes to conform ,even imagining voices in my head swearing foul language as I went with my family to Kingdom Hall meetings. Imagining the demons were harrassing me, because of my study conductor telling me so, the stress was exteme, then one night going to bed I suddenly felt huge pressure on my chest and could'nt breath and nearly blacked out. Then I called to Jehovah to protect me as I thought it was demon attack ,and I was released .
But this was pivotal in me becoming a JW as I had'nt completely accepted god as yet but now I did as I thought he had fought off the demons for me ,so now I thought I had been accepted by god so I gave my whole life over for 20+ years on the basis of this mis understanding!
I had a lifetime of weird experiences and now because of this post I now am now going to explore more about this mental phenomena and it may lead me to explanations of other events that I had put down to demons !
I've been seeing shrinks for years and none had suggested any of this as explanations ,they just looked at me weird - shit I despise doctors.
That Wikipaedia article fitted my experiences ,and that artists picture did it for me ,just what i imagined happened.
I have lived a fearful life as long as I can remember and if this is what is going on with me my shrink is going to get a talking to for I've told him of my experiences and he gave the usual shrink dumb non commital look.

i was talking to lyman swingle about how the society could save some money.
it was a crazy idea ( to crazy to relate here)...............anyway he laughed and said to me.. "brother..........we have always had the money to do the things we needed to do.......and if we didn't.......we felt it was god's holy spirit telling us, it wasn't what we should be doing".......so...i said "so the money is like a barometer, no approval, no money"......he said "yea..... i guess you could say that!

This is interesting ,going back in time there is a definite thread of measuring spiritual success by financial gain.
What comes to my mind is the way the old time colporteurs depended on selling their books to survive ,even taking food as payment to keep their ministry going. Selling books was woven into the belief that sales = blessing.
I can remember brothers jangling the coins in their pockets to show their success in the service of placing magazines and books. And this mentality followed on into the quick build era of the eightees when they would quote Malachi 3 : 10 "Bring all the tenth parts into the storehouse, that there may come to be food in my house,and test me out please, in this respect ,Jehovah of armies has said, "whether I shall not open to you people the floodgates of the heavens and actually empty out upon you a blessing until there is no more want" "
So throughout the WTS history finance = blessing .This always troubled me over the years and I could not reconcile this because the congregations were in fact being coerced to dig deep for the money to give an appearence of blessing , and of course we would give money , because of the fear of failure of money coming in would be evidence of gods disfavour of the JW's in the area and this would then lead to challenging our faith , so we all felt that we had to make it work.
The same went for quoting the financial status of assemblies at the lunch break so we would feel compelled to pay up to save face.

that some of the anoited were unfaithful and had to be replaced.
i have beleived this for 40 years.

Is this a genuine letter?
If it is ,it's what I was expecting for many years ,and my wife and I were put thru alot of criticism for rejecting certain marraige customs when we were married ,for we said that if we were to go to extremes in practising our faith in other ways (like not taking blood etc), we should not do what scholars had pointed to as pagan like wedding customs.
Those bastards have known all along that the scholars had pointed these things out and yet the Jw women would always go to great lengths to adopt the obviously pagan customs. It's like the GB gave the witnesses the "concession" of pagan wedding things to placate the women because they were denied all other celebrations and the fun they bring.
I'm not pointing to women here to critisize, it's just that men tend not to get so emotionally caught up with celebration things, it's always seemed a womans domain ,especially amongst witnesses ,and the GB knows it.
So now they change it to a disfellowshipping offence (6 months to give up rings) - they really are desperate to get the people to think that by giving up something else for pure worship ,the persecution will be worth it for Jah will be happy.! BUT FOR CHRISTS SAKE WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN DOING FOR 130 YEARS KNOWING HOW BAD RINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ?
This is bullshit ,so why don't they condemn wedding cakes, the waltz, the white gowns(vestal virgins my arse,I reckon most "sisters" have bonked their brains out before getting married in a holy Kingdom Hall) etc?

That made me laugh ,it's amazing to me that the WTS can look down their long noses at another country and yet they don't seem to remember that they actually rule their little kingdom of subjects from America ,the very source of the worlds present so called "Western debauchery".
It does'nt worry them that the American nation actually provides them with the freedom they need to exercise their silly little hypocritical lives ,if the debauchery is so bad why would they want to rule from such a debauched Sodom-like country?
Perhaps a move to India would be good for them to share the apparent innocent nature of the Indian people who are so pure and undefiled and under pressure from the wicked westerners to conform to evil. It is so evil in America that it is amazing the brothers can actually bear up with this load of having to put up with it!

My Bethel Experience final chapter
by new boy inthere were other people who either killed themselfs or tried to kill themselfs while they were at "the house of god.
one person who did kill himself was richard wheelock, press room overseer ......he jumped out of a window at the watchtower farm one day.......it seemed, he was never quite the same after his wife "willy" died..she seemed to be the only one that he could relate to.......which would make sence.....because he sure couldn't relate to any of us in the press room..........he would come over to our press and say "here is the work... get in out".......then just walk away.......he was not the type of person you would really want to talk to anyway......but wouldn't it be nice if just now and then, like every year or two, they might ask you how you were doing?.........you laugh.......but its true......i asked a friend of mind who was the press operator of press # 6 which at the time was one of the three biggest presses at bethel.
he had been in the press room for 4 full years.

I've only ever known one ex-bethelite ,the daughter of a "brother" I worked for once. She studied engineering and drafting because her father was a builder and got baptised late after her studies finished (she was pressured alot to get baptised) at about 20. Not long after being baptised the Australia bethel called her in to work there ,amazing is it not, don't get higher education but if ya got it we'll use you up. Other people had been slogging it out pioneering to get the "privelege" of going to bethel but were rejected, but she falls into it.She is a lovely girl though ,and when they finished their extensions at bethel out she went with a new husband.
