MsMcD, hope I didn't offend you about the FMLA. I was wrong to assume you maybe hadn't heard about it. It's just that lots of companies don't exactly want their employees using it, and they kind of keep it hush-hush. Good, at least they can't punish you when you go back. I am sending healing thoughts your way, you are too sweet to stay down long!

Shocking Announcement: Society feels Armaggedon coming this year?
by truthseeker ina rumor alert indeed, but it could be related to the distribution of kingdom news no.37, "false religions end is near.".
the following is posted from e-watchman's forum.. make of it what you will, but in light of all the rhetoric about "deliverance at hand" and "independent thinking", nothing would surprise me anymore.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1502&st=0 we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.
however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

Seek2find, I think you're on to something! Wow, does that make sense! They can grumble around about how soooooon Armageddon is coming, but they wouldn't dare predict another date. Also, they need revenue, so forcing the issue of being required to report time could get more butts out in s
ervitudeservice. Pressure would increase on teens who are lukewarm to get baptized and pioneer, or move out of Mom and Dads house. College would be even more discouraged, as preaching is pushed more aggressively. Peer pressure would ratchet up on Sunday attenders, to get more deeply involved. Yep, this works! Whatever it is, would be in Crooklyn's best interests, and your idea meets their selfish needs very well! -

"Slogging" - the top speed at which JWs go door to door
by LovesDubs ini know this topic has been beat to death probably in here...but i was watching some of the "friends" going down my street the other day (and they categorically skip my house because satan and i are tight you know) and it reminded me so much of how much i hated going door to door and how i prayed when it was my turn to knock that nobody was home.
and we walked down those streets with our little territory cards in hand, making anywhere from meticulous to rediculous notes about the house we were just at...and moving our feet as slowly as we possibly could to maintain a forward motion at all, to eat up the time we were forced to (yes i said forced to) report every month.
field service was what you called the time you spent between when you were at mcdonalds and dunkin donuts.

My Mom had a friend who had all her return visits (back calls, then) out in the country. She had a big Plymouth station wagon, and I rode in the back breathing the sweet country air. We stopped to pick flowers, rest in the shade, and other time wasters. But before we left the Hall for this hard day of witnessing, a kid of eleven or so had to say the prayer. All the sisters had to dig in their purses for proper head coverings, and out came the McDonald's napkins. Ah, the memories!

Sorry you're not feeling well! A rest break sounds like a good idea. Can you check into FMLA? That stands for "Family Medical Leave Act" which is for a serious health condition and the employer isn't allowed to take adverse action regarding your attendance if your Doctor signs the form. It is federally protected sick leave, and the company can't do anything for up to twelve weeks a year. Worth checking into, if you go back and need to miss work from time to time. Hope you feel better!

It sounds like you have always had inner strength, Brenda, and courage, too. We all live and learn, and you've got the rest of your life ahead of you to enjoy!
What ever became of your husband, is he still stuck in the Borg, and his destructive lifestyle? Kudos to you, for escaping!

That IS a wonderful story! So there is always hope! Thanks for sharing!
Like I mentioned, Mouthy you look so much like my Grandmother. Younger, of course. She is 92 now, and won't ever escape the Watchtower. I'm so happy you did, and haven't wasted all your life away like my poor Granny. Take care, enjoy every day of freedom to be...Mouthy!

Well, dontcha know, Dams, it says all those things in the Bible, haha! I got frightfully nasty glares if I got a run in my hot, uncomfortable panty hose, or if my bra showed at all under my blouse. That's in the Bible too.

For All Who Are Going to the Convention This Year
by drew sagan infor most of us who are going to the 'delieverance at hand' district convention we want to be low on the radar.
but wouldn't it be terrible if we missed out meeting someone else from the board while we attended the same convention?
listing what convention your going to might be to much of a give away for some people, but i really don't care.
