Well, as a teen I placed tacks in the chair the guest speaker sat in to await his introduction for the Sunday talk. When he sat down, he quickly jumped back up, and my father immediately guessed "Virgochik" did this! It was hilarious, and totally worth it!

Elder has Power of Attny for my Mother
by limbogirl inmy witness mother has a rare form of leukemia -- fortunately she is doing well and it hasn't been an issue yet.
she notified me some time ago that she had completed forms to make one of the elders at her kh her power of attorney in the event that she required medical treatment.
she told me that she did this to relieve me and my siblings of having to make difficult decisions for her at that time -- meaning authorizing blood.

My parents recently informed me that they had given a medical power of attorney to an elder. I was very hurt by this, because they did it without even asking me whether I would honor their blood wishes. But ya know, they've just known Brother D. forever and trust him so much. I will never forget an experience I had with the loving Borg when my dad was in the hospital. He had a heart attack and I flew home to be supportive of Mom. When I arrived in his hospital room, a Sister was at his bedside talking to Dad and patting his hand. She remained stiff, back turned to me. (Mind you, I'm not DA'd. only faded.) She could hear me come in, and carry on a conversation with Mom, but totally ignored me. Finally, my Mom forced her to acknowledge me: "A. this is our daughter, Virgochik! She flew in from (my state) to be here." A: "Yes, hi." Turns back and resumes patting Dad's hand. I had to squeeze myself in the space next to Sister A. to get close to Dad.I wanted to scream, "Lady, get the f**k away from my father!" If this is how they treat family members during the more minor hospitalizations, only imagine the trauma for the family in a real crisis, with Brother Imthebosshere making the decisions, and you standing by helplessly. And it wasn't Sister A. who stuck around and followed Mom safely home, or helped her manage, it was me, her daughter, who REALLY loved her!

I BELIEVE THIS IS AN OUT AND OUT LIE
by Gill inok. i've just read this in the march 2006 - i reckon its an out and out lie and i challenge anyone to find a school where this is happening.. this is in the young people ask section:.
'how can i say no to sex at school?'.
"every day, kids are talking about sex.

They take one misguided quote from a naive teen and blow it all out of proportion and voila! "See what is going on in every school, every day? Surely, Jepoopah is bringing the end speedily upon us! We can see how the world is growing increasingly wicked and it is even dangerous for our youth to attend school where immorality is RAMPANT!" Bla-bla-bla. I heard pretty much the same thing in the 70's, about how wicked high school kids were. Most of my class were very serious and we had a high rate of college enrollments. The hot topic was, "Are you ready for the SAT?' Not, "Are you ready for the orgy?"

JW's and the Cross
by Honesty inwhy is it so offensive to a jw when a person mentions the cross?
-
Virgochik
Mom always said, the cross was Jesus' torture stake. Would you wear a replica of a gun that killed your loved one? So, why wear a cross or hang one on the wall, bla-bla.

The blood policy! As a child, I saw my Grandmother get sick and die because she wouldn't take blood. I still miss her! The 1975 fanfare, because my parents retired early to preach before the end, and now they're old and running out of money. The higher education policy, because I wasn't supposed to go to college, so I could help them now!

Mind Control Alert - Watchtower Article - simplifying your life -
by jgnat inwt january 1, 2006,"how firm is your trust in god?
an anonymous young man with a family is described as quitting a job because it interfered with meeting attendance.
can you see yourself taking a similar step if you were in circumstances like his?
-

It's easy for the old buzzards in Crooklyn to wave their wand and tell people to quit a good job...what would they know about paying utilities, rent, mortgage, groceries, car insurance, children to feed and clothe, etc.? Everything is provided for them including laundry service, and they seem to just assume everybody lives like this. If the Witnoids want paychecks, it must be to accumulate material things.
