When I learned he was going through a bad divorce, I admit I felt sorry for him. Granted, some of these "brothers" don't feel very sorry for other people, say, at judicial comittees, but I do have a heart, and it sounds like he's miserable enough. His life is unraveling. A divorce, and now, in trouble at work. I think he's got enough on his plate for now...

Bad, bad Brother W.!
by Virgochik ini am out on sick leave from work today, but a friend called me at home to say there was a big scene made at the office!.
brother w., an employee, went off on his supervisor, and called her a b*tch in front of onlookers, including the union steward!
it will be hard for the union to defend this.

That's wonderful, KW! She sounds like she's having some doubts and is sincere in wanting to check them out. Sounds too like the door is open for you to talk to her some more! Good job!

The JWs, a petty minded and ungrateful lot
by greendawn inthe jws are being grossly unfair and unrealistic when they say that they owe nothing to the rest of world, for example many ppl had to die in order to defeat fascism and they the jws were certainly spared much grief by the defeat of such dictatorial and ruthless powers.
democratic governments are very civilised in their behaviour towards the jws perhaps too civilised.
but they will never once admit it.

They tell the brothers not to slow down and lose their joy, or to lose sight of the end, buying or building new homes, when all the while they are refurbishing their real estate holdings in New York.

The WTS a religion or a commercial enterprise?
by greendawn indo you think the wts is behaving like a religion or like a commercial enterprise (operation) that is aping religion in order to derive profit out of it?
.
i see them as a business whose imitation of religion is so inept that it can easily be detected.

Poor Es!! If it's hard to get to the doctor's office, could you phone to see if a script could be called in to the pharmacy for you? Dehydration is a serious concern. Maybe you could just call and see what they advise. You poor thing!

Elders have no manners
by Jez inthere i am, saturday morning, 9am, having a coffee with my kids, hair very messy, no make up, pj's on still, and they show up!
why do they never phone first and make an appointment?
i have asked them to do this but they won't comply.
-
Virgochik
Haha, Jez, clearly people who want an appointment and don't answer their doors to prowling elders are hiding something! Why do you need to know ahead of time they are coming? That is what they think! Do you need to hide something, or are you nervous about something they might see if you don't have time to prepare your house? The Shepherds of Jehoopla's flock should not be turned away from the doorstep, this in not appreciative or loving, is it! This attitude in itself shows you bear further scrutiny, bla-bla.

Like Blondie said, they're hoping to get something on you. They want to suprise you and get inside the house to have a look around without you having time to put things away. Are there ashtrays on the coffee table, or does the house smell like cigarettes? Are beer bottles out in the kitchen? Worldly people sitting on the couch? What was on the TV when they barged in? Any improper novels or DVD's by the entertainment center? Are the kids dressed too "worldly?" Is the house clean and orderly? If you've been missing meetings, do you seem to be in good health? Is there evidence you are becoming materialistic, like a big new TV, new furniture, remodeling the home? Etc, etc.
At our Hall, they used to have "shepherding nights" where two elders would pair up and ride together, making random stops at peoples homes. They were spying on the Dubs hoping to see what REALLY went on in their homes.

Jehovah's Witnesses Rewarded for Promoting Tourism
by Kenneson inin jefferson county, texas, jehovah's witnesses are listed as one of 20 groups that will share in occupancy tax money to promote tourism-related events and projects.. "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, $10,000 bid fee for convention.".
i suppose their convention will boost the economy by filling up the hotels and restaurants, etc.. see "20 groups divy up hotel occupancy taxes".

How many of you joined to placate family members ?
by bocephus ini was just wondering how many of you might have joined the organization to placate family members .
i can say as a teen i was baptized for the sole purpose of quieting my father .
how about you did you do it for the fear of losing family members
-
Virgochik
I got baptized to get my relatives, especially my parents, off my back. There was lots of pressure. They were worried, because 1975 was coming fast.It was something you just sighed, resigned yourself and got it over with.
They pushed us teens so hard to get baptized when it was really them, and not us that wanted it. Now, they throw it at me: "You were the one that wanted to get baptized, nobody made you do it! Don't forget you dedicated your life to do Jehoopla's will, did you forget your promise, bla-bla."
Can't win!

Yep, and I'm real sure those figures are accurate, clearly they are, aren't they brothers? Ha! About as accurate as all the faked time sheets the bean counters report, hook line and sinker!
I don't trust their numbers. Anyway, how many new studies quit, how many attendees come to the Hall once and don't attend regularly, etc? What do the numbers really prove?
