it will be during the memorial.. i know that the wife has to attend that, of course.. so, i call around and get the phone number for the city overseer for the city we plan to .
i ask about the language group- he gives me a phone number for the po of the group.. i leave a message "we will be visiting [your city] during that week and we need the time and .

How strange! Bizarre. I thought the whole point of inviting new ones to Memorial was to welcome strangers into the hall and thus be most accomodating to do just that. But...nooooooooooooo....you might be Osama bin Laden.

"It was Jehovah leading me..."
by Fleshybirdfodder inmy best friend and his wife had hired an elder to do some refinishing work in their basement.
they kept their tv and vhs tapes (pre dvd era) down there.
it seems dear brother was a bit of a nosy fella, so he just happened to pop in one of their home movies of a trip they had taken to cuba and found some footage of my friend smoking a cigar.

It seems they make it their business to know everyone else's private business.

When "friends" let you down...
by Crumpet inhave you ever been in a position where you really needed your friends - ie a relationship break down, or some other event and expected your friends to rally and support you.
only to find that those friends are nowhere to be seen or heard and when you tentatively enquire how they are in the hope for some kind response you get - "oh well you'll get over it.
" or words to that effect and by email.. i have as you can guess a reason and recent experience of my own that i'll share later, but i wondered how do you handle that?

Crumpet,
Here's my un-profesional analysis of the situation, it's pretty simple; You saw her as a true friend in need, and you provided the love and support in her time of need. On the other hand, she obviously doesn't feel that way about you. So....the question begs to be asked, was she or did she ever think of you, the way you think or thought of her? As a genuine friend? I think not. Evidently, where you thought there was a genuine friendship, there was not, it was one sided. You were the giver, and she was the taker. You got took.

OutKasted ;-P
by SpaWn of MeDusa inhello in there ;-p. wow wow wow.... i never knew such a place existed.... unfortunatly i don't have a lot of time to type right now & believe me i'd need days, perhaps even weeks & i'd probably still feel like i wasn't done.... in short... my name is jodie, i'm from australia, i'm about to turn 32 & i am a jehovah's witness outkast... i wasn't kicked out, i left of my own accord when my parents divorced & i was about 14... my father, my younger brother & me - the 3 black sheep !!
my father was disfellowshipped, he was an elder who also happened to have bi polar... the day ( or technically night ) my father was disfellowshipped was the saddest time of my life - it was more like a death or a funeral, something tragic... when my parents divorced i went to live with dad, i was always closer to my father plus when he left he had nothing... he lived on the river bank in the middle of winter for 6 weeks in a tent ( while his good christian jehovah's witness father & sister slept warm in their beds in the same town... ) dad bought a little caravan & he & i lived in it, eventually he bought some land & built a house & my younger brother joined us.... anyway to cut it all short... i've suffered badly from depression - so badly it's almost killed me & my brother also... the crux of our depression is our mother, our sister's, our grandfather, our aunt's & all of our relatives are jehovah's witnesses - most of them live in the same town as us altho they may as well live on the other side of the world.... you know, sitting here thinking about it all - it all makes perfect sense... how can families be torn apart like this, how do they not realise it is wrong & sad & wicked ??.
i've spent more than half my life trying to have any sort of relationship with the rest of my family.... anyway i have to get going.... hasta la vista .

I feel really happy to have found a whole stack of people just like me : )
Yes, there's a whole stack of us here, and then some. Wait till you get a chance to read some of their stories. Some will make you laugh and some will make you cry. But...we're so glad part of our community now.
