I think there's a lot of class hatred among JWs. Remember most JWs come from the underpriviliged of the world, the poor and uneducated. A lot of them can't wait to see those "wicked" rich people get their comeuppance so they can take all their stuff.
so i haven't been to a meeting since last december.
the elders recently have come over to my house at random times of day and during the week and one weekends.
just to let you know, i have only had one visit since december.
If Jesus instructed the 144,000 class to "keep doing this as a rememberance of me", why do the "other sheep" need to attend?
Interesting fact. The congregation I am in serves a prison. In fact, I'm one of those who go there every weekend.
Despite the fact that there are baptized witnesses (not DFd, converted behind bars) in the prison, the elders have made no effort to try to organize the memorial there. When asked why, they said that there was no need to fuss with because the brothers at the prison were not annointed.
So why the hell do we hold it every year ourselves? After all, there are no annointed in our congregation.

a few years ago, i had a situation where i was hemmorhaging, not capable of giving consent because i was heavily sedated, and the permission had to be signed.

Actually 7,000,000,000 x 0.01 = 70,000,000. 70 million would be 1% of the world population.
7 million is actually only 1/10 of 1%.

unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.
Yea. In the hall I'm at, there are about 80-90 publishers. Only about 18 of these are younger than 40 (counting me - and I, of course, privately consider myself not a Witness, so...). And that figure includes all the kids. Counting only between 18 and 40, there are only 7 (possibly 8, not sure about one person's age). So that only about 10 - 25%, depending on how you count. Imagine the publisher count dropping by 75 to 90% as the older generation dies off over the next 30 to 40 years.

If you want an answer within the Biblical historo-mythical framwork, I note that the ages began declining rapidly after the flood. Perhaps something changed. Possibly the firmament of waters coming down exposed man to more solar and cosmic radiation, shortening thier lifespan drastically. Or, on a more mythical bent, perhaps YHWH accelerated the death curse he had placed on man in Eden?
