I am right there with you. This site and Thomschat are my sites of choice. I love this site because I know other people are going through or have been through something that for so long I thought I was the only person with these feelings. Its like a little community, and sometimes we get pissed off at each other, laugh, and even for me with reading some of stories cry, but in the end, we know we share the same interest and feelings at heart.

To all the faders who still go to meetings
by What-A-Coincidence into the ones who still must go for family sakes .... what feelings/thoughts go through you at the meetings???.
mine are:.
"damm, i wish my folks would have not been suckered in, i could be doing something purposeful.".

I always start out listening too - then after about 5 mins I think, wow... I wonder how that brother became an elder, what will be the first drink I get when I go out with the girls, wow, that guy is so cute, why is he still in the borg, I wonder if my mom knows I'm not paying attention." Just random thoughts, lol...
Although a lot of the time I am thinking, if the elders are looking at me and reading my mind (knowing that I don't believe anymore). -

Topic Assignment: MY QUARTER-LIFE CRISIS by: StillAWitness
by stillAwitness inthere are over a billion people alive today between the ages of 18 and 30 and it is simply not possible that with such a wide base of individuals to pull from, the only stories worth telling, lives worth examining and issues worth discussing are the ones currently being airbrushed and mass-marketed around the globe.
we want you to help us create and compile a collection of pieces about you.
we want to publish a book about your hardships, your joys, your pleasures and your pains; a book about what you are going through, what you have gone through, and how and where you are going.

New user in Pittsburgh, Pa
by somlat ini feel a little odd in posting this..... i am a 39 year old former witness, former elder, former just about everything.
been through much in the last two years... realized not all things i believed were true to me, not all things in the faith work the way i thought.
no anger about the past... i did what i believed to be true to myself, and what others do is their decision.

My parents say they "have to go." But I don't think they realize what they are saying.

Tell your coworkers you're no longer a witness?
by Dune inwell, when i first started working at my current place of employement, i was (still am) a witness.
i went through a whole year of having to explain over and over why i didnt vote, why i didnt celebrate birthdays, thanksgivings, christmas and why i couldnt take part in lotteries and all the rest of that crap.
i'm two years into the job and now it doesnt present a "problem" anymore.

I've never gone through something like this. Ever since I had a job I always hid the fact that I was one of Jehovahs Witnesses until it was necessary for me to say something. I'm sorry hon, wish I could help!
