Elvis. And I would ask him if he would like a home bible study. And by "home bible study" I mean "making out on my couch".

mmmmm, Pork Egg Foo Young...yummy!
I always threaten my cats that I'm taking them to the Chinese Restaurant if they misbehave. But they don't understand English and I shouldn't be talking to cats anyways, because that's just plain crazy. Ummmm, forget that last part I just typed...
Move along people....nothing to see here.

<thoughts> Having left just the JW's "cult" or some more to?
by spiceant ini have read a lot of text and story's about people that leave the jw's and this appears to be pretty much all that's being talked about.. i assume you believe that you have done right by your opposing stand to the jw's because you believe you have been done evil (or have seen jw's do evil) and probably right so.
do you people still pray to jehova and study the bible (on your own for once) as to get to know jehova's purpose for us?.
i wonder about this because i fear that you might "revert" back to the common western culture (assuming you live in one because you'r after all reading this over the internet) which i appal and detest in very many of its motivational aspects (that is, the motivations of its people) that are crudely speaking, selfish and ultimately, in the generations long run destructive.

by xjwms inat first it was business..........then it got bad.
a long, long time ago, ... in a land far far away i was considered as "family" with this family.. thank gawd he lives about 100 miles away from me, ... and the calls are mostly business.. this time, .... it was ....well, when do you think you are going to return and start serving jehovah again.??.
shocked the hell outta me cause i did'nt hear these words for years.. when that conversation ended..........he was singing a "new song".......i let him have it.. this year (2006) marks five years since i was active and regular as a jw........no one has cared...... whats the difference now.. .

Piddly problems
by carla inever feel like saying, 'yeah, join the club'?
someone calls you with some piddly problem and you just got off the phone with someone with a 'real' problem like a child being diagnosed with a serious illness or something?
yes, i know, everything is relative.

I totally agree with you carla. I do this thing with myself when something starts to bug or upset me I immediately say to myself there are alot of people out there with more serious problems and I stop it in it's tracks right then and there. I'm not a complainer and I'm not into self-pity. Because no matter what's going on with me someone has it much worse.
Of course there are things within reason that I have to allow myself a little feeling bad about in order to get past it. For instance something happened last year which hurt my feelings quite a bit, and rightly so. So I allowed myself two minutes to feel a little hurt about it and then I made myself think of what postive things may come out of the incident. And then I just moved on.
I saw too much "oh, poor me" at the Kingdom Hall and when I got out I knew I wanted to be as polar opposite to that as I could be. Almost to the point that I've been called "cold hearted" and "too brutally honest" by my close friends. But they know they can count on me to give a logical perspective when they need it. So it works out okay in the end. But I just calls em like I sees em.

"...and will kill you if you don't believe it".
The second part of the sentence doesn't get quoted all that much.
JamesThomas, I think I love you a little bit.
