  I responded to the pm before creating this post. It just struck me as an odd message. And not even signed with initials or anything. No clue as to the person's identity or when or where we would have know each other. And no reference about which post of mine gave a hint of who I am.

  If it turns out the we *do* know each other - Cool! I love getting back in touch with old friends and have been hoping to find others from when I was *in*. I really hope this is the case and looking forward to hearing from the poster soon.

  Hopefully it's not just a phishing expedition.

  I posted the pm for three reasons. (1) To see if maybe other got the same inquiry, (2) to create a conversation and perhaps a little warning to others who may have received the same message, and (3) to encourage people sending future inquiries to take the first step and give a little identifying information about themselves before asking more of someone else.

  Still hoping it really *is* an old friend...

  Something in one of your posts tells me I might know you. I'm a newcomer to this site, so I don't know how to proceed. Perhaps you can give me a few more clues about yourself to see if I am right about who you are? No matter what I will not share it with anybody. I'm just curious and it might lead to a happy reunion of friends...

  In light of yesterday's outing of a family who was trying to fade, how would *you* respond to a pm like this? -Aude.

  How to find someone

  what suggestions can you offer as to how to find a girl i knew as a child.

  i know she married at least twice and do not know any name other than her maiden name.

  she was in wisconsin about 20 years ago but can't say since.

  If she has brothers, try searching for them in and around Wisconsin (Facebook, whitepages.com, spokeo.com, classmates.com, google, etc)

  Ask other classmates if they know anyone who may have kept contact.

  Maybe contact your school and see if she contacted anyone there for future reunions??

  i have offically asked lady lee to delete my profile on this site.. that being said, i want to thank everyone that was there for me through my hard times coming out of this cult and dealing with my wife who is still in it.

  i know that it seemed like i didn't care and was not gratefull for all the support that i received on the site.

  that's just not true.

  there's a site called spokeo.com that's a new online usa phone book w/personal information: everything from pics you've posted on fb or web, approx credit score, home value, income, age.

  you can remove yourself by searching for yourself on their site to find the url of your page, then go to the bottom of the page and click on the privacy button to remove yourself.. i checked it out.

  they have a picture of my home.

  Yikes!

  I don't want to pay to see the specifics - although I *am* curious.

  They say I'm married, but I'm not.

  They also say R****** is my son, he's not. He's my brother.

  And the map they use is more accurate than mapquest. They actually got my house almost correct. They point to my neighbor.

  But yikes! Wonder what additional info is available for the $3.00 they ask for?

  as most of you know, my husband and i da's ourselves almost 8 months ago.

  the communication with my family stayed pretty normal.

  they would call once in a while and text me.

  I think it's always a tough call - dealing with JW family.

  Nice that you have non-JW family (and hopefully other good friends) to create memories with. Cherish those relationships. Make them your 'family of choice'.

  I'm having my own troubles with JW family members so no good advice for you except to foster other relationships.

  Restraining order against me from my JW Wife

  i should have posted this earlier for assistance.

  i left jw two months ago and since then my life has almost been a lifetime movie.

  long story short, my soon to be ex-wife believes i am full of the world, satan, etc etc.
