  NEW CASE FILED in relation to the Menlo Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses scandal

  a new civil case has been filed in the menlo park congregation of jehovah's witnesses scandal.. .

  for those following the case, the 55 page volume of court documents, dated october 25, 2013, can be downloaded at jw leaks.. http://jwleaks.org/scandals/menlo-park-congregation/.

  the court document contains a facsimile copy of correspondence between christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses and the body of elders in the menlo park congregation on pages 42 and 43.. page 54 contains a facsimile copy of a letter re: an investigation conducted by the city of menlo park over a complaint of "fraud and embezzelment".

  Waiting for the JWs to come to my door...

  i read about the new tract distribution and thought to myself how should i react, when they come to my door.

  finally today, after finishing my morning coffee, i got an idea!

  i'll take the tract, look at it, look at them, and with a nice smile rip it up and hand it back to them with :"have a great day!

  LOL... WOW... It took me til the end of page 3 to realize that this is not my old friend Hortensia. I just could not understand why Hortensia was suggesting this response to JWs.

  It all makes sense now. Hortenzie is *not* Hortensia.

  figured i'd give them a shot to explain why i was expelled from the congregation 23 years ago without counsel or a jc.

  i attended the xxxx congregation in the mid-1980s as a teenaged unbaptized publisher.

  Wow. I hope they respond and that you share with us. So very sorry that you have had to endure such unwarranted unkindness from your own family. Disfellowshipping is terrible in and of itself. Disfellowshipping of teenagers is abhorent and should be criminal.

  a friend, former jw like me, wants me to ask you a question.

  she remembers as a child that her jw parents believed that satan could come up through any perfectly round hole and cause you to sin.

  for instance, if her father built a fire ring at the beach, he purposely put a corner on it so satan couldn't catch them.

  I never heard the Satan coming up thru a circle/ring from anywhere. It's a completely new concept to me. And I was the kid who went with my dad almost *every* time he gave his out-talk 'Deliver Us From the Wicked One' to congs all over the circuit. It was a popular talk for many years and I loved it. No talk of circles, though.

  i remember the days when we actually try to get the householders in a conversation.

  Sorry, but I do not know your details or situation. If your primary language is English and you are currently living in a non-english area, someone in your neighborhood may have pointed you out to them. In my area, several years ago, there were Spanish-speaking JWs that went door simply asking if anyone in the house spoke spanish. If the answer was 'no', they they asked if I knew anyone in the area who *does* speak spanish.

  Simply another marketing/prospecting tactic.

  does anyone remember what year the word "servant" was replaced with "overseer" as in circuit servant overseer, district servant overseer ... and up the hierarchal lineage of the jws?.

  Special Tract Work was done in a 'blitzing' style.

  I remember from the platform our entire presentation was suggested to be: "Good Morning, I'm taking part in the worldwide distribution of this tract. This is your free copy. Thank you. Good-bye!"

  I think we had 10 days to get rid of place 50 tracts.

  Maybe there is s blitz-type promotion happening now?

  I don't know, just guessing. It *has* been one of their promotional strategies.

  WT gearing up to dump Russell and come clean on early history?

  we've discussed this on lots of threads, but i've noticed a few things lately.

  they seem to be talking about the early days on a very regular basis, almost constantly.

  the change to fds happens and this involved a dive into early history and a few knocks on russell.
