I read about the new tract distribution and thought to myself how should I react, when they come to my door. Finally today, after finishing my morning coffee, I got an idea! I'll take the tract, look at it, look at them, and with a nice smile rip it up and hand it back to them with :"Have a great day!"
I just hope, they will not count it as a placement since I have to touch the tract in the process ;)
What do you think? Or what is your idea?
To each his own. I personally wouldn't because it's disrespectful. Just because JWs are disrespectful by coming to your door at all hours of the morning doesn't mean you should be the same to them.
But if you do, a comment about "Can this tract come back to life" might be appropriate as you hand it back to them.
Take the tract and give them a Playboy Magizine back.
Personally I think most JWs are nice genuine hard working people who are trapped in a cult because they truly care about others. Some are liars and take advantage of the vulnerable and kind ones.
When I have contact with JWs, I try and show care and consideration, and maybe a little TTATT, by asking veiwpoint questions.
It really depends on your motives as to how you respond when they call. What message would you like to send?

If you want to attract disrespect. No matter what your beliefs....I truly believe what you put out you will get back.

I do not understand why ripping up the tract is disrespectful. Can somebody explain it to me? (I mean it, I'm not being sarcastic). Why do you, guys, think that is OK for them to rob me of 15 years of my life and make me loose my faith in God, and it is disrespectful for me to show them what I think about their lies?
Kate, yes, it will make me happy, and I don't think they care... The message I want to send is that I don't believe in their message.

Kate, there is only one "them", "they" are united (their own words). They all believe the same things and they are all responsible for their thoughts, words, and actions.
Just remind them that for the last 140 years they have been preaching the same crap and they themselves will never see the new system. Don't forget to smile!
