I have a question...
Is this the same woman that was offended that you sent an email intended to be private for her --- to the entire class??
If so, I don't think Hooters will score you any points.
-Aude.
im sorry i havent been on the forum for ages.
but like the prodigal son i have a problem now, and i would really appreciate some help and input.. i found out at the beginning of the week, by a slip of the tongue from my daughter, that she has been told by her dad to call his new wife 'mum'.
daughter is 8, and on questioning has said that she feels she might get told off if she doesnt use this term.. i initially phoned her dad to ask if this was true, and he told me she uses the term all the time and 'its none of my business'.
Hi Katie -
Long time no see...!!
I have never withheld anything from him, I even let him take her to parents evening at school because he wanted to play the 'concerned parent' game.
It's time for this to stop. It feels to me like he is setting you up and trying to build a case against you. The fact that you did not go to this program puts you in bad light. Consider finding a way to attend these events together.
On the upside, your daughter is getting older and, if he does petition for custody, may be able to tell the judge who she wants to live with.
Best of luck to you - especially while dealing with this emotional issue.

i have started thinking about buying a house again.
something that drives me nuts is the fact that i can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone as to whether or not owning a house would be financially better than renting an apartment.. things to take into consideration:how much i pay in rent.how much rent increases each year.how much i pay in renters insurance.how much a mortgage would be.how much pmi or an 80 / xx mortgage would be.how much i would have to take from or borrow from my 401ks and iras for a down payment.how much i will have to pay in penalties for taking money from my 401ks and iras.how much money l will loose by not having that 401k money earning interest.how much maintenance on the property will cost.how much insurance will cost.how much i will be paying in property taxes.how much in "freebies" i will get from the seller (they will pay $xxx in closing costs if i use their mortgage company).other crap i haven't thought of yet.. it seems like everyone i talk to has their own agenda and they all give me different results based on they want me to do so they will get more money from me.
I bought my first home when I was 27. I was still in the borg and a single woman. (Yes. I'm a little bit of a rebel... ) Regular pioneered for two years before that...
It was the BEST financial decision I've ever made.
January this year I sold it for a very nice profit and moved into a wonderful neighborhood with a fantastic view. Home equity is a great possession.

i just noticed that minimus has a similar thread....i guess he knew that i was going to start this thread, so he started it a few days before me........... .
gas was $1.13 a litre last night and this morning its up uto $1.22 a litre.
so it's as if gas went up from $4.27 to $4.61 a gallon overnight.
Yesterday I paid $3.19 for one gallon regular unleaded.

so i'm 40 today.
wow.... not only have i never celebrated my birthday, but my "date-of-birth" (april 20th) has always coincided with that of adolph hitler's and, more recently, the 1999 columbine student massacre.
furthermore my daughter has just informed me that today (4/20) is also inernational marijuana day, apparently to coincide with the term "four twenty," which stands for pot.. anyway, although age 40 has traditionally been one of the major mile-markers in peoples' lives, i feel great!
I almost missed this ... !! (It's 11:20pm)
Happy Birthday, Confession!!
I think you are going to have a blast in your 40's. This is going to be an amazing decade for you and you're already off to a great start.
Did you do something special today? Buy yourself a present??
Whatever you did, I hope you had fun. Congratulations and Happy Happy Birthday!!

i haven't posted on here for a while, i let fullofdoubtnow have the freedom of my pc for a few months, and it's not easy to prise her away from it lol.

anyway, it's great to be back amongst you all, and to see so many new posters on the board.
Welcome Back
I did notice that you hadn't posted for a while.

i haven't been involved with the jws in nearly five years now.
i was raised as a witness from the time i was seven until i was 17 and a junior in high school.
i don't have any particularly sad stories to tell, really, except that the process of leaving the organization--even though i was never baptised--was the hardest thing i've ever gone through.
Hi Fergus -
Welcome to JWD. It's a great place to come to terms with our past and our present. I think you'll like it here.
Do you have much contact with your JW family?
-Aude Sapere (Meaning: Dare to Know/Dare to Have Wisdom/Understanding)
i'm gonna stay up another hour or so just in case lol.
curious to see how things went.
i think his meeting was at 9:30pm but i dont know what time zone he's in.
Hey Candy -
I was just popping in to look for word from SOL, too!
He's in Ontario. Near enough for Kwintestal to offer to drive him. My guess would be they are in the Eastern Time Zone.
So many JC's this week. Such drama. I can't keep with everyone.
Hugs to you - as we await word from SOL.
