that's the amazon link (which is currently the most affordable, i believe, but it's also available for preorder at b&n, borders, indiebound, and indigo-chapters if you're in canada, if you prefer one of those retailers).. .

our friend living the dream has written a wealth of his experiences when at bethel -- all of them well told.
i had a bit of spare time tonight and decided i would search for the ones i missed.
well, google doesn't cut it.
I like this series ALOT. For me, it has been soo refreshing to hear someone's memories that are just interesting memories that we can all easily relate to. No ill-will. No anomosity. No 'Evil GB'. No serious bashing of past or present JW (well, maybe there was one - but that just adds to the credibility!).
I think the writer neutralizes some of my own memories and that allows me to put things in better perspective and heal without completely villifying the people who played such a big part in my life for 25 years.
I would really, really like to hear about his own 'awakening' and how he managed to set aside his own 'cultic' (??) upbringing, rise above it, and create a happy, productive, professionally-successful life without anger and resentment.
I bet that would be an interesting tale as well.
And a good example for most of us.
I know he's mostly using this site as a place to 'park' his story. Hopefully he's finding the process as rewarding as we do!

i was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.
i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.
how dare god disobey the jw leader!!!!!.
(marking for later)
watchtower bethel application from 1982 .
questions asked tell their own story.
today i posted onto my blog the first post-1980 update of the bethel application.
On the front page, the question about Marital Status... I've never seen an application that had 'Pursuing a Courtship' as an option~!!
That's kind of funny - in a very sad, sad way.

it gets worse daily, it seems.
just saw an hour-long program on this poor guy, on the learning channel..... "the man who lost his face".

That was such a sad situation.
I think we had a thread that updated his story a few months ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit to add:Update can be found toward the bottom of this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/186978/1/Man-With-No-Face-a-Jehovahs-Witness
i would like to thank all of the posters to this board.
had i not stumbled upon here, i may never have been armed with the courage and information i needed to stand up for myself and leave this religion.. i'd probably still be going to meetings, giving talks on the service meeting, public talks, going out in field service.
i might even have been guilted into going off to mts within the next year... yikes!.
You are welcome.

for some reason, i couldn't post on your thread.
it's been happening quite frequently, so it's easier to just start this new thread.. welcome chase.
i look forward to hearing your story.

It's a very mixed crowd. Some disgruntled. Some Disfellowshipped. Some Disassociated. Some currently active (even elders~!) - but no longer believe the org is 'Jehovah's sole channel of communication'. Some are still pretty die-hard (apologetics). Some are dating a witness. Some are just here because they like us.
Welcome to our little corner of cyber-space. It really is a good place to be. Most will identify with your JW 'issues'. Some will challenge you, but that's OK, too.
Nice to have you join us.

PS: For some reason, the 'ReplyBox' was not visible for me in IE. For other reading this who want to comment, there is a 'PostReply' button at the top of the screen (near where you can choose a NewTopic) and on the same line where it says 'ActiveTopics'.
i'd like to ask undercover why he has so many responses that are similar to what i think?.
finally free, are you really as cranky as you seem?.

Seriously???
That would have been BIG news~!! I've been thinking of her and hoping she is happy. Looks she very well may be~!!
