she lived a long life, 90 years, and battled alzheimer's for the last 5 years of her life.
I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. It's funny when we find their dominate traits in ourselves.
Enjoy the time with your family as you prepare for her services. I hope you have some good laughs at the fun stories that you will hear.

in recent weeks the jw’s here in the uk have been setting up their new portable watchtower literature displays in my local town square on a saturday morning.
as they hadn’t knocked on my door for at least five years, and consequently feeling somewhat neglected, i thought that i would pay them a visit instead.. .
the first thing i needed to do was arrange my literature.

i was born in a jw family and i grew up as the average jehovah's witness does.
even being very young, i helped with the territories and other work in the congregation.

hi all, i've posted here in crisis a few weeks ago.
i recently have finally taken the time to write out my entire story.
i knew i had to come out to my parents and family about everything, my sexuality, and my issues with the jehovah's witnesses.

sorry to keep dragging this on ... but this is really the only place to vent right?
so basically it's going on 4 months now that we've had zero meeting attendance, and for the last 2 months we have not reported any service time (prior to that, when our service group overseer would send a text asking for our time, we would report 4 hours each, for our "family study").
in my last post, i talked about how we were having a really difficult time beginning a new life outside the organization.
Sounds like you are doing the right things. It's just too bad that the others in town keep flaking.
You've got some good suggestions in this thread and I'm sure more will come up.
Keep working at getting involved. Something good will happen.
