  there are some things i need to prove to my mum, here they are... .

  firstly the cuneiform tablet with part of the babylonian chronicle (605-594).

  before i discuss this with mum i need to know that this is accepted fact and nothing will change what it says or affect its content.

  Great post Little Bo Peep. Just because some have left the org. does not in any way mean they have left the bible, Jesus and Jehovah. I was discussing this with my Grandmother last night and she said "Well I am not leaving the org. I believe everything the bible says." my reply was"I want to make this very clear-I too believe the bible, just because I am not going to the meetings does not mean I dont believe what the bible teaches. I also still love Jehovah and Jesus with my whole heart"

  People seem to think that is impossible. Or that you cant have one with out the other.

  Hello, I just read your post and I actually wrote a post yesterday on this very subject. It is under bible research just like your but it is on page 241 the 7th post down. Titled easy math for 586/587. I broke down the years of reign for each king. I hope this helps I know it has for my family.

  also keep in mind that i am agreeing with the years of reign with the society not the years.

Be open minded when you look at this and you too can see how 586/587 comes about. 539 =Fall of Babylon (history and society both agree=insight book volume one under Babylon) + 17 =Nabonidus years of reign (society agree=insight book volume two under Nabonidus) 556 =Labashi-Marduk reigned 9 months (society agree=01/01/65 watchtower) + 4 =Neriglissar years of reign (society agree=01/01/65 watchtower) 560 + 2 =Evil Merodach years of reign (society agree=01/01/65 watchtower) 562 + 43 =Nebuchadnezzar years of reign (society agree=insight book volume two under Nebuchadnezzar ) 605 + 21 =Nabopolassar years of reign (society agree=02/02/69 watchtower) 626 According to the math Nebuchadnezzar began rule in 605 and reigned 43 years till 562. Now we know Nebuchadnezzar took over Jerusalem in his 18/19 year. So take 605 and subtract 18/19 years and you get 586/587 I hope this helped some of you I know it helped myself and my husband

  Hello Everyone, My First Time

  hi, i just got registered and am looking forward to getting to know others who have escaped from the controlled environment that i was so faithful to for so long.

  i hope to meet others with similar backgrounds.

  i've been out about 4yrs and love the feel of it, but to be honest, as much as a definiate decision it was on my part, there was still a long time of adjustment.

  JWs knock on my door three times in one week

  my husband is off work at the moment recovering from a double hernia operation.

  the jws knocked one day and our friend, who was here doing a bit of painting for us, answered the door and simply told them he wasn't the householder.. then at the weekend, early on a saturday morning, they knocked again.

  i was in my nightclothes and had only just gotten up, or i would have answered.

  My husband and I are trying to fade out. Every few weeks we come home to a note on our door. The elders say they just want to encourage us. I have my husband return their call so they wont pop in on me when he is at work. He tells them that he has some issues and he has been doing research and when we are ready to talk we will call them and let them know. It seemed to be working well till this Sunday my husband was washing our truck and one of the elders pulled up. He told my husband to read the let your kingdom come book. My husband said ok and just kept on washing the truck, he did let the elder know that we were not happy because rumor is going around that we have become apostate. The elder did not say anything about that.

  If you just keep putting the elders off can they da or df a person when ever they feel like it?

  JW Children, Holidays, and Memories

  my husband and i were walking through the store today and we passed a display of valentines -- you know, the kind that school kids buy and exchange in the classroom.

  i paused and glanced them over, remembering how much i used to love holidays at school.

  (husband is an inactive/faded jw; i was never one.

  My daughter (1st grader) came home a couple of thursdays ago and told me she did not need 25 cents on friday for popcorn (every fri. kids get a bag of popcorn for 25 cents)because a boy in her class was having his birthday and his mother was buying everyone popcorn. There is another JW girl in my daughters class who refused to eat the popcorn and just glared at my daughter for eating POPCORN. We have not gone to a meeting in 7 months so this JW girl is always watching every move my daughter makes. She is always making rude comments and making my daughter feel like she is a bad person. I cant believe that JW are training their kids to be so judgemental. My husband got a state job and they pay for their employees to have a membership at the YMCA so we decided it would be a good thing for our family. We are no longer going to meetings so this would be something good for us to do as a family. My daughter was talking to some other little girls about how she loves to swim at the Y. The JW girl overheard (keep in mind she is only 7) and told my daughter she needed to go home and tell her parents(me!) that she was no longer going to go to the Y and that we needed to get a babysitter for her everytime we go because what we are doing is making Jehovah very unhappy. I am sooo sick of JW being so judgemental.

  I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you growing up. I am very happy for you because you not only found your mother but you found freedom in living. We can not change what happened to us in the past but we can only change what happens to us in the future. Congrats on your book.

  Did the elders ask for sexual details at your Judicial meeting?

  i personally know of two cases where the witness being disfellowshipped was asked to provide excruciating details about the exact nature of the "sex crime" that they had committed.. having read the secret elders manual "pay attention to yourselves and all the flock" i know this is standard operating procedure for a judicial hearing.

  for those that were disfellowshipped for a "sex crime"

  One of my best friends had to go before the elders and they too asked very personal questions. They wanted every little detail- who what why where and when and exactly how. She said that she felt one of the elders was enjoying the details very much so. He is now disfellowshiped, left the organization, and ran off with another woman leaving his wife behind.
