interesting site i found by some present day bible students that claim the jws shouldn't trace their beginnings back to charles russell..... i wonder what practicing jws would say if they read this (or would they really care)?.

Good thread......I don't remember anyone ever stating it just the way you and the Bible Student did.......but there is more truth to the assertion than not.
Just considering the way Judge Rutherford ruthlessly took over the reigns of wtbs, catagoricaly ignoring the wishes of Pastor Russell was enough to prove the point.
The jw mindset does not allow them to compute such issues. They tend to buy any explanation offered up through the wt publications, as the gospel. Irrespective the glaring nonsense these two (Russell, Rutherford) religious zealots were involved in, both in personal and religious life.

Tj's ability to formulate his thoughts into consise and most often compelling words of reason, is to be admired.
Of course I've been a tj fan long before it was in vouge.

I was in LA for a couple of day's on business.....made a special trip over to Roscoe and Highway 405 just to pick up several!!!!!!! Tommy's Burger's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heaven on earth for chili lover's....they use a chili (secret receipe) that imo is addictive. Anyway I had them wrap up 4 of these wonderful delights and proceeded to drive them 210 miles home to my lady.............As soon as I brought them in the door she could smell the chili on the burgers......TOMMY'S BURGER'S.......

You bring up some good points.
Seems as though every theologian/bible scholar, biblical comentator, has from day one offered up an explanation everything recorded in Gensis.
Can't just read the account of creation and accept what it says..............no way, one must ascribe meaning and understanding of the events. Poo poo.
Of course the snake didn't really speak(who say's), the tree of life/knowledge were only symbols(of course they were), about the only part of this story that has not been bastardized, changed to suit every whim of religious explainers is the cherubs placed by god, with twirling flaming swords. This little diddy is so archaic, so ridiculous to ponder, that even the most brash of learned 'believer's' seem to just accept this part, part and parcel.
If I were god and inspiring Moses to record the events of creation, I think I could have done alot more to help the succeeding generations of mankind........UNDERSTAND.......without all the EXPLANATION!!!!!!!
