Dear Brothers,

Some have asked why we never sign any of our letters to you. Well to be honest, some former Bethelite down under is raising a rukus over the issue world wide via the internet.

Normally we would have ignored the question, waited for ten years, then white washed the question and posted a semblance of an answer in Questions from Readers in the Watchtower magaizine, but since this Austrailian apostate just survived a near miss appointment in hades, we now have to respond. You know how people with second chances can get.

Anyway as to letter signing; The judge actually started the trend. Having been used to dictating his letters with stenographers who could in shorthand record up to 120 words per minute.....not to mention type them as well, the judge became weary of personaly signing his huge volume of work. Since everyone knew that all written information came directly from him, it was really redundant for him to sign his name anyway

So in the interest of efficiency and productivity he issued everyone of his secretaries a stamp 'YOUR BROTHERS WATCHTOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY'.

Three years ago this month, I left the JWs...

the exact day, lost in a memory that was unconcerned with the details of the moment, is unimportant.

what is important is that three years ago -- in may of 2002 -- i left the jws.

it was at the end of the month, for i realized soon afterword that this would be the first month since becoming a publisher that i did not turn in my time.

I can't even remember if it was 1980 or 81 when I was df'd.

Even after all these years, life as a jw is very vivid and clear in my mind. It would be nice to thourghly wash the braincells of any trace of the cult, but it ain't happening.

Jw's are masters in the art of being judgemental of every little nit pickin aspect of living. Just to rid your mind of this tendancy is a victory......and allows one to really exercise the admonition 'to live and let live'. A true joy in and of itself.

Who Was Shocked By the Watchtower UN NGO Scandal?

i'd like to get comments from people about whether and how much they were shocked, surprised, or otherwise bothered by the watchtower society's becoming an associated non-governmental organization (ngo).. note that i'd like to see these comments because they might lead to some interesting publicity, so please comment accordingly.. alanf

UN scandal is only a symptom of a much more sinister scandal

Every type, antitype, prophetic example, string of scriptural quotes, twisted time lines, they have taught as gospel from the days of Russell till now, are testimony to the simple fact..........Jehovah's Witnesses, have no corner on anything even resembling 'the truth'!

They simply have relied on the imaginations of men like Rutherford and Franz who thought way to much of themselves, or ability to interpret what God wants. The sheer arrogance of it, should make people stop in their tracks......ponder the reality of the record.

Every current jw should review the hidieous reputation this organization has established as decievers. Even if the deception has been carried out with no malice or intent of harm, they are guilty of wreaking havoc on the lives of millions.

The legacy will not go away for another 100 plus years.........

Damn them.

why are there so many religions all professing belief in the bible, yet all of them interpret the bible differently?

What is so great about the wacky ideas of ancient people? Would you use their ideas on medicine, childbirth, science, social heirarchy, slavery, economics, politics? Or, are you just enamoured with the religious ethos? Hmmm

Enamoured is not quite the word....how about mesmerized by the mystery, pious discipline, and archaic idiocy of 'the scribes'!

Sometimes I think it was worship of the ideas as formulated in written words, that caused all the hoopla. Just to much damn effort went into writing something down for it to be mundane. The words had to carry more weight than human authors could muster........so why not ascribe your work to God Almighty??

I secretly used to wonder why WE had to sit through hours of talks, and study the same old stuff year in and year out----if it didn't actually apply to us in the first place! Funny how ther seldom told us what DID apply by association, or what applied to only the annointed! Round and round we go......

The roller coaster ride of remaining a jw for very long...conditions you for the long haul. Thats exactly why there are so many zombie like jdubs walking around in a daze of spiritual depression.

They talk out loud about the 'happiness of being dedicated to Jehovah' yet physically and emotionally they are exhausted by the effort.

in leviticus 11:6, it tells us that the rabbit chews the cud.

they don't chew the cud.. in leviticus 11:20 it tells us that insect walk on four leggs.

Wading through all the poop jokes.......still Gumman raises serious consideration as regards God's propensity for nit-picky rules and regs.

How anyone can take all the do's and don'ts found in the OT as valid for spritual edification is now far beyond my grasp.

As if the application of a 'new testament'......'new covenant' ......through a perfect sacrifice somehow ratifies all the giberish written by Moses. In some twisted convaluted way I suppose it does.

But it really is a strech by any common sense look at what was said.

One must be a willing 'gullible' candidate to buy the package. Funny we all did at one time.......I think gumman is still deciding on the whole mess!

After more than 24yrs out of cult, it still amazes me that I can visualize or actually feel the intensity of former strong beliefs.

The exuses for misconduct by prominent jw leaders are on the tip of every jw's tounge. 'Jehovah uses them', 'its not the man, but the position thats important', 'Jehovah will fix things', 'all of us are weak and imperfect', 'where else can we go?' the list of exuses is endless.

Maybe other mainstream religious adherents experience this zeal.....but I somehow believe it (fervor) belongs mainly to the cult follower. They may not even consider themselves radical zealots, but by adhereing to the tenants of Jehovah's Witnesses they are by default, radical.

The simple fact is there is NO exuse for the wtbs socities conduct as respects its association with the UN. The volumes of words written about 'the beast' seal this assertion as fact.

Yet the little r & f lambs will jump at the opportunity to defend 'thier shepherds'.......in this case the sheep are truly having the wool pulled and sown over the eyes.

This type of rationalization has been used since Pastor Russell days. The Bible Students about the only majority within the ranks, to ever not exercise this cult like thinking.

At least they had the fortitude to leave the org when they saw the change of thinking. Today's jw does not stand a chance, to even develope one iota of independent thought...........even if the evidence is overwhelming, that they have indeed been lied to.

I can still hear my mother and father exusing every sort of bad conduct by the Judge, with the exact same words this idiot uses above.

Interesting new paragraph from the OD book

chapter 17 of the new organized to do jehovah's will is basically the revamped chapter from the previous edition.. .

the name of the chapter has changed from "enduring with life in view" to "stay close to jehovah's organization.

" in addition three paragraphs on pages 170-171 are completly new to this chapter which basically follow the jw doctrine of the trinity: obey god, jesus and the organization.. .

Whomever the 'faithless and indiscreet' slave class have been 'channeling' with they cannot lay claim to any successful prophetic or 'spirit directed' promise that has ever come true.

A fact no one can challenge for all of the 120+ yrs they have purported to be this special 'channel' entity!

What a crock.

They do love the sound of thier own 'back slapping' don't they? Just reading the above paragraph sent shivers down my spine......remembering the sensation of reading that tripe 'back in the days'.

Talk about suggestive reasoning. They have a patent on it.
