If you can...move outa that nest of family viper's. Sounds like your sister's may be cause for further violence. As the ole Judge R used to say 'go west young man'.

I know you feel better (so do I) after getting that off your chest. At the very least, it should put all the imagination and speculation to rest..You Know.

Your writing indicates a strong will and lots of courage. More power to you, you obviously decided taking the 'poor me' attitude was no answer.

The future must look like a 'paradise' compared to what you have just been through!

Natural Guilt

basically, all religions have the same core tenets.

1. have love for others.. 2. don't value material things more than you value each other.. i have a theory for this.

i call it the natural guilt theory.

Joel and larc,

I have contemplated this subject often. What still is a puzzeler for me is, the profound effect our upbringing has on the 'guilt' or internalized social norms.

Many studies show those with no such early guidance, are replete with no consicence or feelings about 'right and wrong'...so it remains a mind teaser for me.

Although the concept of being 'master of one's fate'...or 'capt'n of your soul' is heady, all of us are subject to the will of time and chance.

This reality, should be enough for anyone to make some allowance for their own weakness. I suppose McV's last thoughts were somewhere close to 'huh oh, my fate is out of my control'...SHITTTTTT!

Help! Help! My son wants to tell elders about me

i am floundering!.

today my jw son told me that he had seen an email in our family account written to me from an exjw.

it contained very little, but enough to let him know that i was in contact with outsiders about my doubts and feelings.

Can anyone really get out intact? Maybe less painless, but having to resort to their (jw) own mind-numbing subterfuge is not appealing, unless you are into self abuse.

Keeping one's family intact is a positive goal...but how long can someone stomach, keeping up a false 'face'. I guess it is possible, ie: Biblexaminer, but the toll must be very high on one's own sense of honesty and self worth. Maybe their games require to high a price to pay?

sociology is fascinating.. here at this board we have a subculture of a subculture, similar to bears (gay hairy men) who are also a subculture of a subculture.. i participate in boards for both groups and they are remarkably similar.

there are the people who post long drawn out posts pontificating about this or that.

there are snipers who do nothing but try to derail threads.

How can you renounce your doubts? Doubt's are part of a thinking process. Renouncing them, would be tanamount to 'not thinking'. Of course that is exactly what the org-elder's are assinged to do...police member's thinking process.

Maybe this will give you an opportunity to unload a burden you've been carring for some time now. It could be just what you need to break the chains of oppression.

I know the deep loss associated with repudiating your religion. Family is really not replaceable. So it is not an easy decision you are facing.

Just take solice in knowing there are many here, who have survived the whirlwind...and come out the other side, happy and relieved of the terrible guilt, anguish and shame...involved in leaving this incidious organization.

Hope your journey will be less bumpy knowing that we understand.

Perhaps a mention of just how elite one must be to obtain any help from the 'society'?

How about the fact that you literaly must be a member of the Govering Body (how many now 14?), before you can even think about getting your own private apartment at Patterson. Let's see 14 outa 6 million....odds don't look good for average young dub reaching out to serve...who can look forward to any type of assistance, when he or she gets to old to sell magazines anymore.

Jdubs since the begining have had 'suckers' that work for nothing (self included), work for nothing...topping that off with paying for all the wares sold, then selling them and paying that money back to the publisher, never asking for a dime in expense money to boot. Oh god it would give any Amway corp executive wet dreams!

No matter how much the 'spiritual guru's CO's and DO's sprinkel their talk about Jehovah's purpose, their mandate from Brooklyn is simple. How many pub-dubs, how are the books maintained, is the congregation growing? Literature placements up or down. A little sniffin around the judicial files and wam bam, you've got a typewritten 'regional manager's report' befitting any competant 'fortune 500' company manager!

Guess what part of the form that gets immediate attention. $$$$$$$$

Take these 'company men' home for a special dinner (if you are a part of the congregation elite) arrange for all their expenses to be taken care of, then send them along their merry corporate way.

Oh yeah throw in a few 'Jehovah's blessings', share a few off the wall 'tug at your heart' personal experiences from abroad, and the rank and file will fall all over themselves to kiss some major corporate butt...including the sister butt. Who by the way consider's herself a mini-style Overseer, having a birth-rite to such power, predicated on her marriage certificate.

Oh the wonderful life of a pub-dub.

H2O and all that ...PLEASE READ!!!!!

folks, i know some of you feel a little peeved with the old h2o but i don't think you have been fair to the new one.

there is and will be a different attitude there and i have been assured of this by both rick and fd2.

i would like to encourage everyone here to cross post on h2o in the various forums .... let's make as many places as we can available for those who need support and questions answered .... theo nly wat to do that is let your past animosities go and think of those coming behind you.. if you have problems there then there is a forum you can post your complaints to and suggestiosn on what needs changing ... i just feel with the number of people here who could help those who come into h2o (and tishies board0 that we need to reach out a little more ..... go over and try it out folks and support others there too .......... http://www.aimoo.com/forum/freeboard.cfm?id=311102.

What Jang, Amazing, You Know and a few others, fail to realize, when using this discussion board as their own personal platform....is that many (like myself) do not come here to be preached to, but to listen and comment on our shared backgrounds.

As someone above mentioned there are many sites devoted to revealing the false doctrines promoted by JW's.

There really is a 'time and place for everything'...imo this is not the place for 'grand standing'. It's our coffee house. If someone stands up on the tables and keeps shouting look at me....ruins the atmosphere.

Do You Remember...

i just got home from a dinner sponsored by the senior citizens counsel, an organization funded by the taxes of our city and county.

they have many programs to benefit the senior people in our area.

i hate to admit it but i qualify.

Upside of not drinking anymore...you save a bundel on Excedrin.

Would like to know more about Bev Dolittle...so I will consult the internet.

Glad your days of ill health are behind you Comf. I know you went through hell not long ago.
