More than 2 years ago, I spoke at lengh about my main problems with the organisation, the things which made me unhappy to be a JW. One of these was the amount of meetings we have to attend. She told me I was being critical & that we need the meetings. She said that it is'nt asking too much of families and that it is right that they have 3 meetings spaced through the week. I disagreed. we argued & argued about it. Then the WTS speaks. They say, basically what I was saying (perhaps what she was thinking), and she gulps it down without a word of disagreement. Even commending the Society for the kind concession they made for the 'worn out' brothers! WTF? Had I not been repeatedly saying that? I despair!

My Sister Finally Called Me... After My JW Brother Completely Told Her Off
by cognac inwell, for those that don't know the story, here's a quick recap.
my sister, mom, and dad felt i was an apostate, freaked out on me, then went to the elders and ratted me out.
i haven't spoken to her in about 2 months because i didn't like the way that she treated me.

Wouldn't we all like to see what the future holds for them in say, 10 years time? Unfortunately, I have also had to stop talking to my wife about the religion. It never is productive & can sometimes be quite messy. She has made her bed though. Now she can lie in it. I will say nothing, nor will I 'help her out' when things go wrong in the future with our kids or other matter within the org. I just cannot go there again. I tried to help her see. But she argued until she defended that organisation above my own resonable feelings about it (and tried to slur my character to justify her disdain for my arguments). They are in a sense married to the filth that is the WTS. They are also having their reward in full. I hope it's worth it.

{The Simpsons} = Did you know any "Ned Flanders" types in your Hall?
by Witness 007 inus brothers would be having a conversation about sports and this brother "flanders" would always start a spiritual conversation: "on a sunny day like this i just want to thank jehovah for my blessings....i wish we had meetings everyday....i feel bad i didn't go witnessing this weekend.
" .
many times i wanted to strangle him!...his wife left him and the truth, since then he is worse..

Plenty! Prayers out loud in cafes. One brother I knew would reply after telling him your problems, "just pray about it". Or if he was being a bit of a dick, he would ask: "are you praying about it"? What a knob sack.

State Truthful Facts About JWs That Make Them Look Bad, Weird, Foolish
by minimus inyou don't need to exaggerate the foibles of jws to get the point across that they are not "the truth".
can you state some facts that show that jehovah's witnesses are not "normal' and that their religion is weird and simply abnormal?.

They tried to ban sooking on the spitting snake. Quite frankly, it's none of their business.

I feel that I have a fairly good mind & I get on with people. I could easily work in an office or some other more 'up-market' occupation. My cleaning business is well run, efficient & I make a lot of money. I also agree with the poster who mentioned the relationships that you gain. I have wept with my customers & rejoiced (at xmas parties. Hic!). I love my job. I do wonder sometimes what I could have been. I might have ended up a right wanker though.

Witnesses if they strictly didn't use anyone who went to College??
by Witness 007 inwatchtower pedophile case 2009 the new watchtower policy forbids using college educated people.
so instead of a witness lawyer a regular pioneer is appointed to defend the society against the prosecution....he is well versed in the bible...and knows nothing about the law!
a governing body member needs an operation to save his life...but we know college is evil, so....brothers surround him and pray to jehovah for help.. hypocrites .........use college educated people when it suites them.

I think at one point I did. Looking back I can't see why I thought like that. I always had doubts about it but you would hear the old 'gods loving dicipline' line. Then I realised that it really was a crock of pish. Dicipline that is not comensurate with the 'crime'. How could I have been manipulated to act in such a terrible way? A way that is against the way I was brought up and against the way I really feel as a human? Now thats power.
