I remember an elder walking in the hall and it was the 1st thing he said to me as he saw me dealing with the sound dept. "Where is your jacket"!!!! Nice greeting!! I remember being tired and stressed before I went to that meeting. I couldn't help thinking about how petty some JW's are. ANY MORE JACKET STORIES?

My kids cuddles. God, I love my children so much. Their warm skin & close cuddles they give me are worth so much to me it is almost undescribable! The moment that they touch me and tell me they love me is like falling in love all over again. They get so tired of my kisses (daddys stubble is like sandpaper apparently ).
Looking at my mum & dad & seeing them laugh at their grandchildren. It is so great to have given them this. It was my mum who said that having grandchildren was like being in love again. They deserve it for being such good parents to me. I love every minute that we are all together!!
Life. It's so good at times!

For those of you who don't go to meetings anymore...
by exwitless inwhen you attended your last meeting ever as a dub, did you know it was your last?
did something happen which made it clear in your mind you were 'never going back' (not to be confused with nvrgnbk)?.
the last meeting we went to was the memorial in 2006. we only went because we knew we were already pegged for the elders' unwanted attention, so we had to go to keep them off our backs a little longer.

This entails quite a momentous & happy time for me.
I had been trying to pluck up the courage to make the break for months. It was going to be so hard to do. I put it off for over a year.
A couple of things happened in the lead up to me deciding to bolt. All within a few weeks.
The 1st was when I went to a brothers house for a 'lads day' watching the football on TV. The m/s that was in our company basically victimised me that day. He was one of these self-righteous prats & he didn't like my 'laid back' approach to being a witness. I was a fellow m/s in the same cong.
The guy basically tried to bully me that day, in front of other people. I think it may have had to do with a bit of jealousy & a number of other matters. He and his wife had lots of problems with people. You know the type.
At that time, I had been socialising a lot with worldy people & having a really good time. Most of the worldy people were my family (all non JW's) & their friends.
I began to think; why is it that when I am going out with the witnesses, I am coming home sad, angry & upset at their self-righteous, petty attitutudes? Yet, when I am with the bad people, I am feeling refreshed & happy?
That was in Dec 2005.
The last straw was a few weeks later in Jan 2006. I had basically decided to leave. It was just a matter of outing myself. That Saturday, I went to a football game & felt great. A massive burden lifted. No more having to put up with the crushing weight of being a JW. That night however, I had a JW wedding reception to attend with my wife.
We went. It was murder!
I watched all these people in their cliques, treating others with disdain because they were weak JW's. One pioneer sister treated us appalingly. A number of years before this, I had painted her house (for free). She used to suck up to us because we were usefull to her. We felt sorry for her & helped her out a lot.
Now though, she had her older husband who was very wealthy. It was like looking at a completely different person. The chronic fatigue had gone, the shoddy old clothes had gone as well. She obviously thought that she was a cut above us now. Honestly. We had always been nothing but nice to her. Now, she shunned us like we were trash. Turned her nose up to us whenever we came close to her. I couldn;t understand it. I still don't.
I looked around at all this and knew it was the final end.
The next morning I went to the meeting & never looked up from my seat, never followed along in my WT, never read a scripture. I was too busy trying to work out how I was going to handle the next few months/years!!
I walked out of that building as a respected ministerial servant. The next day (Monday), I broke the news to my wife. I have never been near a KH since that day.

Onwayout.
Thanks. I can see how it works.
Worldly influence? I remember being at one of my last conventions & enjoying a chat with one of the attendants. Turns out this brother was put away for being a paedo 2 years later for crimes he had comitted years ago.
Still, the brother said all the right things at the time & kept the chat 'spiritual'.
What a joke!

KM 2005- Society discourages brothers from donating to Tsunami victims $$$$
by Witness 007 insitting in the hall i was shocked when i read this article.
kingdom ministry 2005 nov {after the tsunami and new orleans desaster witnesses sent millions to help brothers in these areas marking their envelopes "for the tsunami victims" etc.
the society realized since there are few witnesses in tsunami ravaged countries this money would be wasted helping muslims.

CanWeHelp?How
1
The question "How can we help?" is often raised by Jehovah’s Witnesses when they hear of a disaster that has occurred in some part of the world. As the account at Acts 11:27-30 shows, Christians in the first century provided a relief ministration to the brothers dwelling in Judea because of a famine that took place.2
In modern times, our organizational charters have permitted money to be used for charitable activity and to provide humanitarian assistance to those suffering from natural or man-made disasters and in other times of need.3
For example, last year many brothers contributed toward helping those affected by the tsunami disaster in South Asia. This heartfelt response in the way of donations to the organization’s relief funds was very much appreciated. However, when donations are earmarked specifically for a certain disaster, it is necessary in some countries to use such funds only for the purpose specified by the donor and within a certain period of time, whether the needs of our brothers have been cared for locally or not.4
Consequently, it is recommended that donations for humanitarian and relief assistance be made to the worldwide work. This fund is used for relief efforts as well as for advancing the spiritual needs of the Christian brotherhood. If, for some reason, a person wishes to make a relief donation separate from contributions to the worldwide work, it will still be accepted and used wherever there is a need for relief assistance. However, it would be appreciated if such donations are made without restrictions as to where and how the funds may be used.5
Our directing donations primarily to the worldwide work allows for more funds to be available for use in connection with all features of the Kingdom work rather than being held only for future relief needs. This is in harmony with the spirit of Ephesians 4:16, that we work together to give what is needed "for the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."Nov 2005 KM - Qu & A.

Very good point. In other words, give us cash that WE can use as WE see fit. Disgusting!!
It always disappointed me immensly that the WTS never done more (having the power & $$$) in relation to other efforts. The few things that they did arrange were trumpeted from the highest rooftops.
But in actual fact, thay do nothing in comparison with other religious charities & relief organisations.

Can anyone shed light on this bizarre situation?
