  how many times did you hear jw`s rant on 'we dont baptize our children as infants, we let them make their own decision as adults'.

  Jambons story - 10 yrs in the truth

  i had lots of questions at 17 yrs old.

  i had a lot of respect for the bible having been told it was sacred and holy.

  i was brought up in an atheist household but through circumstances found myself studying at age 17. the common sense of it all (it looks that way at 17) appealed to me and before long i wholeheartedy embraced the faith.

  What effect did armaggeddon/possible persecution have on your mental state?

  i was`nt brought up in the `truth`.

  i have recently left and am amazingly happy.. one thing that got to me was my mental state of mind which became extreemly negative about the future.. i worried very much about non jw relatives (good people) dying at armaggeddon.

  also reading the endless accounts of bros/sis being brutally tortured/raped etc really disturbed me.

  Did anyone hear the expression- If it was`nt for Jehovah I wouldnt stick it

  where i live it`s common to hear the brothers/sisters say 'if it wasnt for jehovah i wouldnt be here' - refering to the fact that they are fed up, sick of everyone and they are only staying in the truth for jehovah.

  it is normally uttered after a fight in the cong or when someone has done something bad/brought bad publicity etc.

  naturally, it is said with a dgree of head shaking.. does this not contradict the idea of a worldwide, supportive & loving brotherhood exsisting among jw's?.

  if you had to write down just a few sentances about why you left the truth, what would you say?.......

  jambon;.

  wholeheartedly embraced it for a few years after love bombing etc then saw widespread hypocrisy.
