It's so funny how dubs use that word. I wish I could run across some JW's and ask them if God is going to kill me, instead of is Jerhover going to destroy me. Might make them think a little, to make reference to something they believe without using the customary terminology. Wait a minute, dubs don't think, so never mind.
This email is further evidence that, as Metatron says, JW's are getting dumber and crazier.

This was how I started to feel towards the end. Especially when I saw how many a**hole dubs there were and how many nice "worldly" people there were. I stopped believing that one's survival through the big A depended on whether or not they had responded when some muttering 19 year old JW pioneer came to their door offering magazines about "Help for Arthritis Sufferers".

I too get in a total funk starting right around the time when we change the clocks in the fall, and like with you it starts to lift around January. This has gone on for years. It's like some weird primitive thing takes over where the shrinking days cause some sort of psychotic reaction. Once we get past the solstice I feel much better.
was having a wee think to myself: this year is the first year in over a decade i won't be attending the jw memorial.
not that i'm too bothered, i remembered how much i hated it, how pointless, dull, & stupid i found it!!.
i could never understand the need for the great crowd to attend the annual meeting, it wasn't for us - & it certainly wasn't for our poor bible studies!
I too thought the memorial was very strange. Just another Watchtower tradition that may have once been an exciting and meaningful occasion for the flock, but now has become an embarrassing relic of a dying religion.
They made it even stranger when they started playing kingdom melodies very softly over the PA system while the emblems were being passed.
So glad to be out of that mess.

This is the statement that struck me. The deluded minds in Brooklyn see themselves as being at the center of a "morality play" that is occurring at the "climax of human history". Hence the constant effort to condemn all of those outside JW-world as being "apathetic" or "not appreciative of spiritual things", immoral, on and on. I thought it so strange and out of character when one of the mags made some positive comments about Albert Schweitzer. It seemed so forced for them to give any modern person outside of their own org any praise. It seemed to me that they were just throwing a bone to their critics by making such a statement ("It's not true that we never say anything nice about anyone outside of WT"). On that note, it became increasingly obvious to me my last couple of years in that the the pages of the WT often contained remarks that to a less astute observer would seem innocuous, but I knew that many of the statements were in reaction to "apostates" and critics.

Interesting comment. One time I was having a discussion with an elder who mentioned that many JW's who survived the camps eventually faded from the org. I wonder what the percentages are.
