Single? Do You Cook for Yourself?
by compound complex indear friends,.
as i cook away, preparing a hearty breakfast before the robust walkabout that awaits me, i recall an earlier conversation with a married friend whose wife prepares him beautiful meals.
if you're a single person, it's typical to throw something together hastily and eat it on the run.

I'm single and I love cooking. I love to cook a huge pot of food (whether it's a Thai curry, beef and mushroom casserole, goulash, it doesn't matter). Then invite some people over, sit around and eat for hours, talk, have a beer or glass of wine.
I do also cook for myself but that's usually a less elaborate affair. I hate wasting money on take away which is almost always disappointing.

Witness anionted mum invite- visit my disfellowshiped Sister after years!
by Witness 007 inmy witness "anionted" mum has organised for me to visit her when my disfellowshiped sister flys in from overseas in a few months.
my mother feels that this is "personal family buissness" and does not clash with watchtower laws.
afew years ago i was threatened by elders for associating with a disfellowshiped family member....i organised to meet her at our favourite resturant.

Your mum sounds like an unusual JW! Good on her for organising the reunion. I hope it goes well.

For Australian posters: Any News about the tertiary education purge?
by ozziepost inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/159645/1.ashx.
mrs ozzie and i are very interested in what stillajwexelder reported in his thread today why i will never be an elder again when he reported:.
so the po confirmed what many on this board already know.

I'm also waiting with interest on how this develops in Australia. In the 1970's, it was frowned upon to continue at school after the age of 15 (when you could legally leave school in Australia).
But times have changed. There are some congregations now where most teenagers go to university or college. Including sons and daughters of elders.

007, that sounds like a good development. Why don't you ring your sis and tell her you're looking forward to seeing her again? Bet she'd be pleased. Unless you want to make it look like it's an unintentional meeting??

The crashed spacecraft -- believed to be one of 10 rockets launched from Woomera in 1960s -- was found by Government scientists in the Simpson Desert, near the Queensland border two weeks ago.
Mr Fanning said the wreck was three metres wide and two metres tall.
So it takes 40 years to find a crashed rocket in the Northern Territory. Wonder how long it will take to find another poster?

How do you handle ... being shunned?
by Awakened at Gilead inmy da announcement was last tuesday, so i have been on the official jw shun list for about a week now.... i am curious how you handle shunning.my situation:.
i have spoken with my family (my parents and 1 brother) and discussed whether they will shun me.
i explained that biblically they should not shun me since i am not an antichrist, and i have not rejected the teaching that jesus cam in the flesh.

And I just wish i had birthday parties. Still never had one.
Happy birthday, mary stewart! Hope you find some way to celebrate today even if you're not having a party!! And welcome to JWD!!
I had a strange experience recently. I'm not dfd but had the opportunity to speak to someone who was. It seemed like he was so used to being shunned that he didn't know how to react with me talking to him. He seemed quite uncomfortable (he would know that I haven't been to meetings for years). I heard he was reinstated a short time later so I guess he is happy now.
