Breaking News: Big Trouble with the Watchtower

a couple of weeks ago, an ex-bethelite(10 years) by the name of mel smith was disfellowshipped.

i understand that he still lives in ny are and has a mortgage company.

evidently, he was hurt while serving at the farm and watchtower did some horrible things to him.

2010 got scared today! OLD AGE! Born in 1972 realized I may only live to 2050!

believing that a "god" will whisk me away to heaven would be very comforting....but i just can't do it.

ever think about dying of old age?.

i served as an elder for many years, and regular pioneer for much longer until recently.

i'm also a mts grad and was used extensively on the circuit and district level.

If you live to 75, that's only 3,900 weeks!
I'm 54 - if I live to 75, I've only got 1,092 weeks left.
I better make every week count!

My sister died in a head on collision last night

i still can't believe it.

she was here for the bbq, we had an awesome time, laughing, her telling stories from our childhoods.

i gave her a hug and told her i loved her before she left.

Tonight I hid in the pet food section at the grocery store

i went to the grocery store tonight to get some supplies for the small party (with a few jw friends) i'm having this weekend.

while trying to find the aisle with the canned vegetables, i spot them, at the back of the store in dairy... the ancient and insane jw husband and wife duo that goes to my congregation.

it was minutes until 9pm, what were they still doing awake, and out shopping at that?

Where I can find information on South Australia court case, where a JW sued his KH and the WTS after breaking his leg in field service?

from memory a newspaper article reported on this some years ago - it involved the jw trespassing on private property, being knocked over by a goat, the homeowner being sued and having to pay damages to the jw.. initially as the jw sued his congregation, the wts defended the kh and itself with the statement that jw's are not required to go out in field service and that the ministry work is purely voluntary.... can anyone point me to a link?.

im gunna adopt more of a live and let live attitude. And in retrospect i can laugh at the nonsense they belive so firmly in a nostaligic way rather than a resentful way.
I have moments of feeling like that. Then I see my elderly parents struggle to get to the KH. Feeling guilty about not doing more in FS. Or my brother shunned by his siblings. Or my nephew having panic attacks at the prospect of going in FS.
Then I get angry again. And sometimes a little too outspoken for my own good.
