Do you betray your religion,if you deny what you believe to everyone?...OUTLAW
For most religions, yes. Not for JWs, because part of being a good Witness is being a good apologist, and making the organization look good.
if you ask a jehovah`s witness what thier religion is,they will say:"i am a jehovah`s witness".....jehovah`s witness`s have preached the end of the world by 1975.it did not occur.if you ask them if they ever preached that, they will say no..ask them if god will only save jw`s at armageddon?they will say it`s up to god.yet at the kingdom hall they preach only jw`s will survive..there are many more examples.....my question is:"do jehovah`s witness`s betray thier own religion, when they are ordered to lie,by the watchtower bible and tract society, and do as they are told?

while thinking about more bible related legends depicted in films, a rather obvious one came to mind...the ark of the covenant.
do you think it still exists, hidden somewhere?
or do you think it was captured and destroyed following one of the defeats of israel?
I think that there is sufficient evidence that it was a real object. The History Channel showed some ancient engravings and artwork that depicted the ark of the covenant. Even Biblical scholar Elliott Friedman who is a believer in the Documentary Hypothesis believes that it was real. I think that it was most likely captured and melted down or simply lost.

They are not betraying their religion, because it is right out of their religion's playbook called: Reasoning From the Scriptures.
there are currently long debates going on with 3w about the subtle meaning of words and how they are supposed to prove the wts has the correct doctrine.
even as a jw i always noticed that it was impossible to prove a doctrine to people in the field.
the fact that 2 christians can discuss topics endlessly without any conclusion shows me that god can not possibly be going to destroy every non jw simply because they could not be convinced of watchtower doctrine.. the bible says very little about doctrine, besides pauls discussions to show jesus is our ransomer and means for everlasting heavenly life.
A Christian serves God out of love for God, a JW serves with the view that they will get a reward within the next few years. This only leads to dissappointment and hence the large number of burnt out JWs.
I couldn't agree more. However, I have stated that JWs really worship an organization. I have noticed that many JWs have just as much reverence (sometimes more) for the Watchtower magazine than they do the Bible. When discussing forms of entertainment; how often does the average JW quote the Bible? Seldom to none. I have always heard them say "We had a Watchtower article on . . . ."
I, too, have grown quite tiresome to the verbal wrangling that has gone on between thirdwitness and others. However, I think it is a very good thing for the newbies and the JW lurkers. For this reason, I hope the debates continue.
a friend just sent me this:

three women and three men are traveling .
It totally depends on the person.
I have met women who were totally dingy, and met others who were extremely smart.
I have met men who were very intelligent, and others who had the intellect of a toilet plunger.
here's a few: "we apologize!
" ..... "2014----a marked year?
" ...... "forgiving the child molesters within us".. .

Were you in the movie Fargo ?
raised in the organization
"for those not born into the organization .
not having been born into the organization i believe.
Being born and raised a JW was a mixed bag. There were both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of being born into a strict religious household was that I grew up with a basic respect for authority and law and order. I am glad that I was brought up with a respect for women. I avoided drug use, and avoided some of the other problems that kids get into who aren't raised with strong morals.
It felt good to believe that I was part of a tiny elite cadre of mankind who is carrying out the most important work in human history. I felt a level of superiority; which evolved into a form of arrogance and disdain for all non-JWs. I didn't mind not celebrating the holidays. I never felt like I was missing out on anything. The only thing that I desperately longed for was to play sports. I absolutely loved baseball, and was really good at it. I wanted to play on a team so badly. This is the only area where I felt as though I missed out.
I never did have a sudden moment of realization that this wasn't the "truth". It was a long, gradual gut feeling that only began to increase over time. From my early teen years, I had trouble accepting many doctrines and teachings; but simply stuffed them inside. For many years, I knew deep down inside that I was a hypocrite; going door-to-door expecting people to buy into an ideology that I myself did not fully believe in.
I actually began to intuitively know that the JWs and the WTS were operating like a cult long before I ever read a single piece of "apostate" material. It was sort of an "awakening" that I had after having a nervous breakdown. I knew once and for all that this religion was going to drive me to suicide if I didn't get away from it.
I am struggling with overcoming the mind control and the phobias of Armageddon that I was indoctrinated with since birth. It is a very emotionally taxing experience.
I also feel a deep sense of shame of the person I used to be. I am ashamed that I felt superior to non JWs. I feel ashamed that I longed for and prayed for an Armageddon that would wipe out billions of human beings. I have so much trouble trying to understand how I could have held such sociopathic sentiments. How could I have had such a lack of love for human life?
The residue of negative emotions and phobias that are left over are incredible. It is beyond words.
reading your previous post, ive come to realize that you are either one of the authors of pro-607bc site or you basically plagiarized the content by copying and pasting it as most of what you say here is word-for-word same as on that site.
ill give you a benefit of a doubt and say it is the former.
with that in mind i would like to ask for a clarification.
AlanF, who has debated thirdwitness at length has speculated that thirdwitness is someone inside Bethel. It is a very interesting thread.
If you haven't yet looked at some of it, I recommend that you read it:
with all the "buzz" around the up-comming october anouncment, i have a question.
i have thought about this for a long time, is it possable that they would tell all those married to non-witnesses to divorce their mates?
it could be for the reason of "unevenly yoked", and/or keeping spritually clean.
How about no announcement. You guys are going wild with this.I'm still attending meetings and there is no talk going on or speculation on this big announcement in Sept. or Oct.i have not heard a word about it from elders or anyone else.
Well, I have. There are elders that I know personally that have stated so. Shortly after the letter regarding disaster preparation was read; an elder that I know personally said that "more things are to come". As I've also stated before, a person that I know personally, visited with a member of the GB. This GB said that there were going to be some "big changes", and that "many people weren't going to like it".
There is going to be some kind of major announcement regarding internal changes. It isn't hype. I have heard from several different sources that all confirm this.
