There are indeed many people who would be extremely lost without the org. Many people have a need to believe in a Judaizing god who demands them to jump through hoops and perform endless cycles of busy work. It gives them a sense of security. It's sort of like people who need to be institutionalized. The life inside is devoid of real happiness and joy, but the cell walls and bars keeps them feeling safe and secure.

CAN YOU HAVE A NORMAL LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE JW ORGANIZATION?
by juni inhas anyone else heard these words from the platform?
"people say they want to live a "normal" life.
but nothing is "normal" in this world.
-
Arthur
For me, the word "normal" is too ambiguous. I like the word "healthy". That's easier for me to see objectively.
I love garybuss's posts. That's what it's all about. Healthy beliefs versus destructive beliefs. Right on Gary !

Who is an Apostate?
by thirdwitness inhere is an interesting link http://www.tjdefendidos.org/ and here is an english translation of the article on that site about apostates testimony.
is the testimony of apostates reliable?
sometimes, the mass media offer testimonies of people who used to be jehovah's witnesses as a means of finding out more about our religion.
-
Arthur
Look thirdwitness,
No one is denying the fact that there are ex-JWs who have had their judgement clouded by personal grievances. Very few of us deny the fact that there have been some rather diiengenuous accusations made in the media. Many of us are very suspicious of the accusations that have been made against Ted Jaracz. I, personally am skeptical of some of Bill Bowen's statements.
Not all of us ex-JWs are "foaming at the mouth", critics who just wish to throw verbal grenades at the Watchtower Society. Many of us have quite valid points to raise regarding doctrinal flip-flops, the Society's use of mind-control, and other issues.
I think you are one who would praise Catholics who began to question doctrinal inconsistencies of the church, and who began to question the edicts of the Pope and the Vatican. Many such people; after leaving, share their experiences and insights into the Catholic church with others. Yet, when a JW openly questions the "spirit-directed organization" and the Governing Body; they are labeled as dishonest, and one who is not to be trusted.
The pop-psychology that filled the material you posted was some of the most trite material I have ever seen. It was quite transparent. It read exactly like a transcript of one of J.R. Brown's press releases. Please try to post something next time that wasn't generated inside the Watchtower's Writing Department.

It's funny how the Unification Church said many of the same things about their former members (including Steven Hassan) who went public with some of the Moonies dirty laundry. Steven Hassan was demonized by the Unification Church as a wicked apostate, and a Satanic influence for his public testimony regarding U.C. practices and policies.

THE BORG WANTS YOUR NUMBER
by Mary inmy elderly dub aunt (who's the biggest whiner the world has ever seen) came over tonight to first of all, whine about how her neighbour shuts her kitchen cupboard doors in the most annoying way possible and her dog barks and what was she supposed to do about it?
anyway, as soon as these monumental problems were solved, she informed me that at the bookstudy the other night, the conductor told everyone to "stay after the prayer" as he had 'something important to announce.
" naturally everyone did this, all the while wondering if the red phone at patterson was in direct contact with jehovah himself as the study was being conducted.

Arthur, I have many contacts in the Society. I certainly won't reveal any here.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting you to blow anybody's cover. It's interesting that you have contancts inside Brooklyn. It seemed as though you had access to info. that some of us don't have. I've always known that greater efficiency and cost cutting was a priority; I just didn't realize that contributions to the World Wide Work was decreasing as rapidly as you indicated.
Thanks for the info.

Can religion really overcome racial tensions.
by earthtone inin my experience it seems that although religion is suppose to unite all races, it rarely does, as in the case of jehovah's witnesses.. jw's are always talking about how they go serve where the need is great often among individual of a different nationality to help there "brothers and sisters".
they orchastrate international conventions to prove how much they love the" friends" regardless of their race.
they pride themself's on following the counsel of act 10:34,35 where it states:"for a certainty i perceive that god is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

I think that racial unity has always been a product of spiritual evolution; not religious adherence.

The current system isn't working, hasn't since day one. They can't go forward with the current system. They've gotta have dependable cash flow.
I stick with my spring opinion of the three biggest problems.
#1 Cash flowgarybuss,
I've heard you bring this up before. I was wondering exactly what you mean by the cash flow problem. I was also curious as to how you are privy to this information. Is there someone inside Bethel who is giving you the accounting information? Just curious.

who are these people and why are they essentially allowed to spam on this site?
my response to them was that i feel their message is as offensive as jws bringing their crap to my door (which they cannot do because i live in a gated community), completely unacceptable, offensive and annoying!.
