  I was listening to another section of the DC from the audios that Aunt Bee provided, I guess the best title would be 'stories from the crowd' where folks were asked to tell about a big impact a DC had on their life. The one gentleman spoke about how he was working too long and he quit his job and he is now a full time pioneer and how much better his life is....puke.....

  I am listening to this now.....

  It is making me ill........I can not believe this drivel. The constant talk about the anointed and the great crowd, think how this will appear to Jehovah's anointed ones, and there associates, the great crowd....puke....plus at the beginning putting all the blame on the individual witnesses, not the organization.......I have never been a witness and the information in this speech is nothing new.

  Tonight a mother mourns the loss of her son

  i don't know the boy.

  my daughter and i were coming home from a shopping trip at wal-mart, loaded down with goodies to eat.. the road we had just travelled on was clear of any mishap, an hour later on our return .

  ahead of us was blue lights and more blue lights.........about 8 city cop cars, state police, .

  dont guys get disfellowshipped for hitting wives ?

  it confused me that my friend was hit and abused by her dull hubby for years and was told by a elder to just put up with it as she was warned not to get involved with him as a teenager (the best way to throw two people together , usually) and she did put up with it for years and finally left him and the religion at the same time , then 8 months later was disfellowshipped for smoking (i thought you could not get disfellowshipped after being inactive for 8 months ) anyway how come hubby was not even told off for hitting his wife but as soon as she had enough and walked and smoked to cope with the stress she was straight out , i think its sexist , anyone know of a guy getting kicked out for domestic violence ?.

  the other reason for shortening the talks could be short attention span........

  That is a really good point, I am by no means a JW expert, but looking at the new books and WTs vice the older publications, they sure seem to be quite a bit 'dumbed down', and I guess a bunch of shorter talks, hammering home the same point better fits their teaching model.....yuck.
