  most dubs are exactly like us faded ones!...l have proven it lately

  recently, with my dad and two of my closest friends, i stumbled upon an interesting situation....they all know where i stand and what the issues were that became a wt dealbreaker for me...but all three of them have recently (and in the past) expressed opinions that go directly against fds teachings...not doubts....they just do not agree with something taught.

  but two of them have actually put a mental block on a wt teaching they do not agree with, but what is funny is they both told me "i don't think we have ever been taught that so directly" (by the slave)....both times i was stunned!....these two teachings are huge wt dogma and taught very often....but because it conflicted with what they actually believe....they thought it must no be a real wt teaching.. 1. the first one was my dad...i told him i was mad at god and wt....he asked why...so i said well it could be this frikkin reading glasses i cant get used to, or my bad knee thats aching, and my back sometimes goes out!....and i was told all my life that for sure i did not need a college degree or great job cause i would never grow old or die and the end was just a few short years away!!

  !.....so then he said the above quote...and i was like "what about the talk and books "million now living will never die"....so he says that is not as specific as to what my gripe was.....so i do my research and send him an email with two dozen quotes...my fave is the may 22,1969 awake that said youths "you better face this fact..you will never finish a carreer in this system...you dont need college....cause you will never grow old or die....the end is few short years away.

  My wife was in major JW mode last night, a few questions/comments I had

  well last evening, after a pretty normal afternoon, my wife went out and when she came back she was pretty hyped up about the truth....she started to ask me some questions.....she started with the trinity (they gave her another copy of the trinity brochure yesterday) and all i did there was ask her to look at the first four verses of john, the verses in colossians where the wts added (other) and then the first bit of genesis....then simply asked the question...who created the heavens and the earth?

  she went on a fact finding mission, never got an answer..... .

  well of course she could not end with that....so she started on the existence of hell.....well question for you all here, she read some of the recent public edition wt and it talks about satan being subject to torment...in wts teaching is there a 'hell' for satan.. .

  Thanks Mary, do have a copy of it and I since she will not read anything that is not WTS stuff, I am pretty much just spoon feeding her the information from your project, which is wonderful!!!!!

  She is pretty non-dubby today, but am pretty sure she will be going to the meeting tonight, gag!

  You will be referred to as an "opposing mate" or an unbelieving mate, said with a tone of pity to your wife.

  Pretty sure I have already reached this 'status', the sister never calls our house, only communicates with my wife via her cell phone, and never when she is at home. I met with the sister and her husband (who happens to be the PO) and even though they say to ask questions, I think I asked to many for them, and some hard ones for them to answer, so they have pretty much written me off.

  I understand what you say about GB headship, normally would not be a huge issue until the JW is baptized, but my wife was brought up around JWs, so already a bit of mind-control has been done, she refuses to read any non-WTS literature when it comes to spiritual matters, which makes it quite difficult to show her anything, and she is already 'enthralled' with the way the organization is willing to change when they 'learn new things from Jehovah'. I thought God is never changing.........

  She has already said it is her duty to teach him what she is learning....he has had some problems in the past, and our neighbor could have called the police and had him arrested, but she agreed not to if he got counseling, well my wife feels a JW bible study will meet this requirement.....I am going to have a talk with the neighbor and have her ask if the counseling has done any good, she has no affinity at all for the JWs, so I know this will not be acceptable to her...at all......

  She is at the point where she will only look at WTS literature, so I need to ask leading questions.....I have gotten her to tell me she believes that the WTS was selected by Jesus as the FDS in 1918/1919, now I need to find a way to start to show her what they were believing at that time, I am pretty sure that the library has Proclaimers, and I know it is so WATERED DOWN, but at least it is a current book that she won't immediately point to as old light......I also think that the blood issue is at least making her think...

  As for the son, that is the tack I am going to take, it will get really ugly for a bit, but I have asked her to read what the WTS says about this on thier website, in the WTs and in the family happiness book, she has not yet, for I think she knows what she will find.

  Thanks, what really gets me is when she starts to discuss the Trinity as three Gods and I tell her that there is only one God, well she will then say that there is one Almighty God, Jehovah, Jesus is a Mighty God, so therefore two Gods, it is definitely circular reasoning.

  I think you are correct Doug, have a few topics that are defended beyond belief to deflect away from the strange and undefensible doctrines that a JW are just supposed to take as correct and believe.

  Any other thoughts here, I really need ideas to help keep her from dragging the 15 year old to the meetings.........he is her son from her first marriage, but he and I have a pretty good relationship and I know he is not wanting this, at all....

  Selective quoting is much of what appears in the Trinity brochure.....whether one believes in the Trinity or not, the way the references are used in that brochure is very deceptive, much like the reference used here.

  Very interesting....no one says that a blood transfusion is without risk, but there are many situations where the choice is blood or death.

  I think most believe that a surgery with minimal blood loss or need for transfused blood is preferable.....no mention in the article about fractions being a matter of conscience, is there???
